I'm on the fence on displaying figs with thumb tacks. It looks fucking horrible, to be honest. IMO, it assaults the senses, you learn to ignore that it is there, and you end up not appreciating what you have. Its better to store it safely and rotate items.

I'd stay away. It is the man version of beanie babies. 99.9% of the new ones aren't actually worth anything. There are a lot of collectors out there, who don't really like the cars, buying them as an 'investment' or looking for the single packed car for each shipping box to resell on ebay.
Those guys are nuts. They call up toysrus, walmart, etc, everyday. They ask to look at the boxes as they come off the truck.
Seriously, it is a straight up waste of your time.
The best stuff for toy flipping is stuff where the fandom is mostly buyers that collect and/or play, with very few resellers.
The last things I can remember being like that were first release toysrus transformers prime toys and select monster high toys.
lastly, /toy/ is a good resource for this stuff. Maybe ask them how to sell hotwheels? Edit: Or look for threads with people crying about rarity.

Found the 88 Party Wagon at TRU last night. That shit is $65. Was stuff that expensive when we were young? I can't imagine my parents dropping $65 on that.
I remember the Imperial Shuttle and AT-AT being $100 back in '83. That's expensive today, but that was equal to $226 back then. Insane.

They're just gouging. The new Shellraiser is only $25, and even the Ninja (radio) Controlled model is $50.
I want to say it was either $19.99 or $24.99 back in the day, but I'm not positive.
Ninja turtle's always gave you more for the same price as other stuff. If I remember right, you could get a big fist full of TMNT figure for the same price as a Joe. And the sculpting was better than the similarly sized He Man figs.
I think for parents, that was a big reason they over came other toys for their kids. When you asked your parents for all that different shit, the turtles looked like the best buy.

I'm totally dorking out here with the custom figure bullshit. I've been painting, cracking torsos, swapping legs and arms, all sorts of sexy shit. this might be one of the coolest mcdonald's toys I've seen in years. Each robot has an action feature and as you can see, combines to form a super robot. All limbs shoot missiles. The lion tank has front legs that punch as he rolls and the red dragon has wings that flap.

I picked up that generations blitz wing today. I'd heard he was bad, but man, he does have some problems.
I'm really tired of pegs in main transformer releases. They've left a bad taste in my mouth every time I've gotten a new bot that depended on them.
And shit, that rubber nosecone. Its just horrible.
But for 7, he's ok enough. Tank mode is very blastermaster. And jet mode reminds me of the old Robotech season three jets.
