Got Bluestreak yesterday! CLEAN paint job, and the slight remolding gives him a totally different personality of his own! The T-top look really fits the character.
We found Spider Bytes and the removable helmet Shredder at Target today, so my daughter is caught up again on turtles until next year.
A few more photos
very nice.
I never had a lot of the autobot cars from the start of the show. I was all about the insectacons, dinobots and constructicons.
The G1 cars were kind of lame, because their legs were stuck together. I think either Bluestreak or Prowl was the first Transformer I ever got. My parents probably hated my aunt and uncle for starting that train.
Jetfire had pretty good legs and arms. Hun grr too.
Most of the G1 stuff was never really meant to be pose-able. Having a good looking alt mode, sturdy parts, and the ability for a kid to grip it in the hand, fit in kid pockets, or zoom around the house with it came first.
I'm really growing to dislike pegs on newer tf stuff. The older stuff was all, fold this in here, turn this, pull this hand and fist out, click this joint. You can't transform anything new without 10 pegs holding the delicate turd together.
You raise a good point. For whatever reason the stiff and connected legs of the jets never bothered me as much as the cars. Jetfire might have been the best of G1 though; he's definitely the exception.
Wasn't jet/skyfire a repurposed Robotech toy? That could explain the kick-assness.
Reporting in to say that Prowl doesn't have any pegs. Unless I am not aware of what you mean.
Jetfire was a repurposed Macross toy.
Same thing, no?
no
Robotech, had toys, and oddly never got the transforming fighters. Just some sd ones, maybe
Why did the Robotech cartoon that came on after school in the 80's have transforming mechs?
because it was made up of three animes, all three of each having transforming vehicles.
But Macross and Robotech are not the same thing. They changed a lot of key plot points, making Robotech a lot more prowar.
So over here it was Robotech? To me that means it's a Robotech toy. Kind of like how Transformers are Transformers and not Diaclones or Micromans.
sure, if Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is the same thing as Pride and Prejudice to you, whatever.
If Pride and Prejudice never came out in the states, was unknown to all but a small sub-sect of fans, the Zombie edition was released as "Pride and Prejudice" and shown in installments on afternoon tv when I was 7 then yeah, sure.
Yeah, but it has come out in the US. And you have a magical box sitting in front of you to use to be informed.
You being 7 once isn't an excuse for staying misinformed. Thats christian talk, Josh.
Secondly, if you're going to be like that, do you consider Robotech and Exosquad to be the same universe?
I like ketchup but I don't like tomatoes.
So this happened at some convention called Comikaze. Dude said he was inspired by the figure. It's getting out of hand now.

The machete is awesome.
You're immortalized. Sort of.
BTW, that's a Minecraft machete. I saw one in TRU the other day.
I was combing through eBay for something unrelated, and came across these.

I had a TON of these things, and had completely forgotten about them. I want one, but fuck what they are selling for MOC.
Wow. I had the helicopter and the motorcycle. I thought they were pretty awesome, but had forgotten they even existed until I saw your post.
I was just reminded of something else, but no idea what they were called.
They were cars that came with a big black dildo looking thing that you had to put C or D batteries in, and then plug the dildo into the back of the car. The car would charge, and then you could drop it on a track and it would race around for a few minutes before needing to be charged again. If memory serves, the vehicles were about the size of a super gobot or deluxe transformer.
Anyone know what I'm talking about?
Fuck, now I gotta get a few of these!

I had this too, and completely forgot about it.
This was the era where Christmas went from "what would you like" and maybe I'd get it or not depending on how well my parents remembered my requests to "here's the Sears toy catalog, circle what you might be interested in."
I was so psyched when I unwrapped this.
Damn buggies fell off the track ALL THE TIME though.
Still no luck on those rechargeable cars though...but I did come across some kickass Tonka trucks/jeeps I had when I was very, very young!

The CJ came with a motorcycle that clipped on the back. So cool.
The tires had a particular scent to them. It hit me as soon as I started watching that commercial.
I had Glo-Bones. Oh man I totally forgot about those Stomper things, I had a couple. They were really cool until the axles were full of carpet threads. And yeah the tires were made up of this weird spongy foam material.
anyone else remember when a tyco track set was like the coolest thing you could get for Christmas next to one of the big transformers or GI Joe bases?
Jesus, I had this one. I thought it was the greatest thing ever.

I had the Wild Canyon set. We also had some of these with the tank threads.
http://www.the-nextlevel.com/tnl/att...1&d=1383702931
I had some of the normal looking ones, the 18 wheelers, tanks, that green spacy one in the last pic, and the devil mountain set. I also vaguely remember some water ones from the last few months of the toy line.
You know what was also fun? Turning one of these things on and shoving it in a girl's hair.
I recall two very specific Beetle toys from youth:
The best Gobot, Bug Bite (Bumblebee can rot in hell)--

--and the best Ghostbusters monster toy, Highway Haunter.
Attachment 72360Attachment 72359
I had the first one. I wish I knew where it was.
One of my friends had the second.
The only other Gobot I remember having was "Destroyer the (Nazi) Attack Tank", who turned extremely worthless the second his easy-to-lose cannon got lost.
Attachment 72368
Yep, had that too.
I lost the barrel too.
That's a long fucking barrel.
Why thank you.
Aww yeah. I hated that robot form but the space car thing was awesome.
Lil steven and i would have gotten along.
I also had that gobot
One Christmas my parents got me some gobots instead of transformers for Christmas and I was annoyed, but it was the large Leader 1 and Cykill, which ended up being pretty awesome.
In hind sight, the gobots werent that bad. And it wasnt like by the end of the line the small tfs were any less bricky. The stunticons and technobots werent much better than gobots.
tfs just seemed better because it had more fantastic ideas for little kids to get into. Like a rocket pad and tank that turned into a giant walking robot. Or a dragon shuttle. Or a godzilla that turned into an assault base.
I feel bad for kids now. We had some crazy fun shit to use for playtime fuel. What do they have now? Phenius and furb? Pokemans? Monsters in high school?
um.
They have the same shit we had.
Just more plastic-y.
Puzzler was ahead of his time. You could move his limbs and the damn thing not fall apart and the gestalt parts staid with the bots, so you didn't lose them in the yard / basement /mom's garbage
I liked Cop-Tur. I loved that his propeller became his weapon in his robot form.
Cop-turd was my favorite (or second favorite gobot)
This is true. Look at what Nickelodeon did to Casey Jones:

Has he been introduced on show yet? I only saw the first episode of season 2.
There was a better version of that Shredder where he was also on a skateboard, floating around Tumblr or some such (and probably what that design was ripped from although I don't know which came first).
The internet T-Shirt market is a cannibalistic whore, make no mistake.
A Lilo and Stitch kind of ray gun would even be a lot better. Or maybe a halfway accurate Auto-9 at least. That gun is garbage.
Were I to do it, I'd have given him Robo's midsection with the monitor in it, I think. And a better pun.
Hrm, now I gotta draw a thing.
The ray gun would have been perfect, and don't call it Gizmocop. I'm really more angry than I should be at a shirt that I'll never buy.
Gizmocop blows. Even Roboduck would have been better. That font destroys my eyes.
Don't put shit. Let the viewer figure it out.
I love subtle things.
Edit: Like the shredder design. Drop the Shred Baby Shred, and fake tattoo art, just have a rad looking shredder playing mean guitar.

lord that gizmocop is horrible
deviant art grade crap
I was in TRU today and they had the NECA Robocop with the spring-loaded holster leg for only $7.48(!), so of course I jumped on the fucker. Holy shit, this figure is sweet.

BTW, messy-ass desk is my gf's, not mine.
Nice man! Especially for that price. I have my Robocop from years ago...I'll put up a picture of him soon.
I gave my Robocop to Pineapple. :(
better that than the garbage can you were going to put it in
Or it is?
Figma Link and Samus got a restock at NCS. I really didn't care to spend more this month but non Ebay prices on Samus? Hell yeah.

If any of you run across any of these:
http://www.the-nextlevel.com/tnl/att...1&d=1384562288
PLEASE buy every single one of them for me. I'll make it worth your time. Make sure they are the exact ones pictured though... help me make rent.
I'm in toy stores, roughly, three times a week if there is anything any of you want and can't find. TNL brofist.
Looking for a 7 year old that can keep secrets.
Josh: what stores carry those? I don't have a tru here but I usually end up hitting various department stores on the weekend.
Target carries Tech Deck, but I've not seen any Penny Boards. The Walmarts around here don't carry them either. Seems to be regional. Let me know if you find anything, I believe you have my number.
You have to groom those. Go to the deep web with the rest of the scum.
Nay, sir. Those are actual Penny Boards. The ones I am looking for are the licensed Tech Deck ones.
I wish it was 20 years ago so I could ride a real one.
huh, I was in toysrus just yesterday. You need to actually message me this stuff when I'm traveling.
Update: any single boards that say "Penny" on them would be legit. There is a new series that I don't have pictures of.
I wasn't aware you were traveling. Consider the Penny board thing an "always" thing. I will always buy any single package Penny boards that any of you can find.
Whilst perusing some discount stores (biglots and tuesday morning) i found some stomper wannabes using the other Defiants title. I almost grabbed some, but they didnt look as cool as the originals. There was also the larger Thundercat toys. Figures were $5 and the headquarters was $10. Again, thought about it and passed.
Just picked this up for my dad. Whisky for scale.

Looked in the local shifty walnart. No boards.
Thanks for checking. TRU and Target seem to have them more regular than Walmart, at least in MD.
The good thing about them being mostly impossible to find is holy shit are my prices going up.
Yeah, I checked Walmart and Target here. Target had some non-Penny Tech Decks but that was it.
What is that Bumblebee? I've never seen it before.
G1 Animation Ver. from some company called Art Feather.
It's so-so quality, I guess. I'll report back after Deathmas on its robot form.
edit:
looks pretty good
