My girlfriend's computer has aids.

OK. So I haven't had to deal with Windows XP in almost 2 years so I don't remember how to fix shit.

I can get into safe mode just fine, safe mode with networking freezes on the loading screen. Same thing with a normal boot.

I just don't even remember what to do with this OS anymore. Could anyone help me out?

boot from the xp disc and try a repair. in the event you dont have a disc, you're fucked.

if repairing doesn't work you'll probably have to reformat.

also try running scandisk from safemode as well as memtest (if you have a floppy drive) to rule out hardware failure.

I have no XP disc.
