Gah another book i need to finish reading.
Up there with thank you for smoking, tale of genji and SCUM manifesto. Googled the last one, read it.

I completely buy the adreneline blackout. That shit happens sometimes. When I was a kid my dad saw a rat behind the fridge and he flung the fridge across the floor and beat the rat into the tile with a baseball bat, and he doesn't remember anything between seeing the rat and standing there with a bloody baseball bat.

Get out, I've read it twice. It's an unparalleled look into a world that no longer exists, and is utterly unlike our own. An intricate combination of poetic imagery, multilayered psychological portraits, literary references and multi-generational operatics. And she pulled all this off in the world's first novel no less. That book was one of the main reasons I wanted to come to this city, all those streets are still here.
