Doug Bradley and Ashley Laurence are high on my list... Jeff Combs too. Seen a lot of the others but never them. Someday.

George A. Romero is awesome, definitely talk to him if you get the chance. He spoke at my school and I got to ask him some Resident Evil-related questions (regarding his plans for the movie and the RE2 commercials in Japan) I had never been able to find answers to beforehand. Getting them from the man himself was amazing. The photo of my roommate and I with him didn't come out, though. :(

I went to a horror con in Baltimore a year or so ago. I met Jeff Combs, Sid Haig, Bruce Campbell, Tom Savini, Kane Hodder, etc. It was swell.

According to him, Capcom wasn't who did it. It company who held the rights at the time, apparently a European (I think German, but I'm not positive) firm who desperately wanted some kind of suspense movie and cared little about the game, or so he said. He mentioned in specific that he tried to keep his scripts close to the game, and that early in the process, RE2 wasn't even out yet and they had worked with Capcom to incorporate monsters from the game into the movie.

Of course, there are conflicting reports about what happened. Apparently Capcom said the script sucked. I certainly didn't expect him to say that. I did, however, want his side of the story, and that's what I got. It was over 2 years ago now, though, and I'm afraid I'm not remembering it all right. :(

He seemed most amused by the questions about the RE2 ads, though. He was surprised that anyone there had even seen them. Apparently the key factor in them having never aired here was the "Actor X" who played Leon Kennedy: Brad Renfro. His agent didn't even want him referred to by name because he thought it'd be bad for his career. Well, that turned out well.

His script, supposedly. Will read this shortly. As much as I love a select few of his films, I wouldn't be surprised if this did suck. I felt a lot better about the man before the time I saw Land of the Dead and almost fell asleep. Or before I saw Bruiser.

Yeah, Land of the Dead wasn't so hot.

OMG, why am I just hearing about this??! Now it's too late to get tickets and go. :( Also, I love Romero's glasses they are so cute!

They're awesome. He's really tall, too... he just looks like an enormous grandfather. I couldn't believe it. I never expected him to tower over me like that.

the convention itself today was meh, tons of stinky people, and not a lot going on other than guests

romero was damn cool and an amazingly nice guy. he seemed happy to be there, took 2 1/2 hrs to get his autograph. got him to sign my dawn of the dead ultimate coll and a dawn of the dead poster. he was shaking though, it could be just old timer ticks

jeffrey combs was also really cool, nice guy and signed my re-animator millenium ed dvd.

tom savini seemed irritated and wouldnt really talk, seemed like he really didnt want to be there. got him to sign a dawn headshot and the same dawn poster that george signed
