That's a little harsh, but if you refuse it's obvious that it's only going to invite much greater suspicion.

I wasn't referring to this case specifically; I get asked for my receipt every time I walk out of Circuit City. It's not an affront on my honor or an anti-Italian practice, it's a general method of discouraging people from stealing shit. There's no reason to refuse to cooperate with it.
