Why waste time with that bullshit? WE destabilized Iraq. It doesn't matter if it might have become destabilized in the future, that possibility doesn't exist because of what WE made it.

A. Don't care, its a good rallying cry.
B. Probably bad, only because they prolong the conflict and refuse to wipe out their enemies like they should in war. Make peace, make friends or kill them all, thats proper statemanship, people seem to forget this.
C. This is a good thing, we should do this more
D. Kinda hypocritical to C. But he has a point, except for the sinful/gluttous part. To the victor go the spoils bitch. You do not demand charity and good will at gunpoint.
E. This is the greatest part of western style government, we need to export this like the dollar.

At this point I feel we should pave over Israel, Saudi Arabia and all the holysites inbetween. Put up shopping malls or walmarts. I'm very tired of people claiming they have a "holy" signifigance, there's no oil or resources and the constant warring is ruining the gorgous mederainian coastlines in the area. If they declare war on us for doing them a favor like this, kill them as they requested, they DO want war.

Btw I am a bleeding heart liberal, but my tolerance for cultural relativism is over. You either respect our way of life or we crush yours and impose "progressivism". Your women will have equal rights, your homosexuals and other 2nd class citizens will be respected as members of the community and your children will receive a secular education. Or we kill you, your children, your women unless you act live a civilized nation. Any means to perpetuate the old systems of volence and repression should be brutally crushed and their leaders, followers and families hung from street lamps which we will have built and provided electricity for using a green energy generation method.

I think Strider's original post is the best so far in this thread.

One of the biggest things that really drives me away from the company of really liberal people is their stubborn defense of Islam; I detest it as I would any religion yet I get treated like an arch-conservative the second I bash it, even by fellow atheists.

Atheists need to recognize that tolerance to hostile religious parties that do not respect the integrety of one's beliefs need to be held with contempt and disgust. They're irrational people who resort to violence, no better than animals. If I meet a Muslim who is laid back, they're cool, but fundamentalists of all colors that hold violence as apropriate means to an end need to be put down like the dogs they are.

Tolerance goes both ways or it fails. My fellow liberals and atheists need to recognize tolerance for those who would destroy us needs to be discarded like faith and superstition.

No, I openly admit to being a bigot. I hate religion. But I was pointing out that those same people who would chide me for saying I despise Shariac inequality for women are hypocrites because they'll turn around and bitch about how God should not be a part of American politics.
