Feel feel feel. Thats bullshit, if we put people's feelings over rights we wouldn't have freedom of speech, religion, association or otherwise. Besides the whole not wanting to deal with it arguement as a reason to deny rights is geniunely flawed as it does not address their primary concern, they do not want to deal with gay people. The fastest way to do that would be to outlaw gay people or just outlaw them in public, but OH that would violate freedom of speech.
STFU.
As for Ron Paul's homosexual stances, he's neutral really, he's against DOMA but also against expanding marriage to include homosexuals. I'm curious if this because of his personal feelings or to remain acceptable to social conservatives.
My main worry is who he'd appoint to the SC. If he wants to appoint another formalist like Scalia, alito Thomas or another Holmesian like Roberts I'd be completely against him. Tho I'm pretty sure he wouldn't do another Holmesian because they're all about deference to the government.
As for healthcare, no one is really covered, if you've got a catastropic illness, if you're out of work too long you'll lose than insurance. We've got a catch-22 system, if you work you're covered, but if you're too sick to work, you could lose it. Some states have coverages to this gap, like Texas, where if you're declared indigent you get free healthcare. But you've got to pretty much lose everything you own before that kicks in. I don't know if that means exhausting all available credit or not.
