Oh yeah. Epic from beginning to end

Star Trek V is fun to argue about.
Row row row
Shatner's ego got so big the only thing left for him to do was shove a photon torpedo right up Our Lord's ass. Talk about epic.
The movie really sucked though for so many reasons. Sean Connory was supposed to play Sybock, but was already booked with Last Crusade, and every worthwhile effects company was also otherwise engaged or considered out of budget.
I did like the opening sequence before the credits, where the Midnight Oil reject meets Sybock. It was a really compelling and engaging opening for what turned out to be such a piece of crap.
I would still rather watch V than Motion Picture. Fuck that first movie, at least V is ridiculous
I remember my parents taking me to see TMP. I was so bored I wanted to cry. To think they actually marketed Happy Meals and Action Figures off of that film. Like any kid wanted to recreate that snooze fest.
In its defense, it was a hugely big deal for Trek fans at the time, since it was the first time they saw the franchise with big special effects and the first time the cast had been brought together again for 10 years.
Still.... the fact that it was a boring 2 hour plus rewrite of a one hour episode script... ZzZzZzZzZzzzzz
Yeah, that's priceless since the Klingons were in the movie for about five minutes and then got vaporized.
