Sweet, I was afraid you can only move it in 1 direction like the instruction says.
Now I can finish FFXII.

WTF. I just read the Odin Sphere review, and there's no "Yeah right" in the Negatives box. Hell, there's no Negatives box at all. I know I saw that, though. Must have been one of Dave's other "10"s.
However, my point still stands! The review is long, and he doesn't find space for a single complaint. Also, at one point he calls it "the perfect game." :wtf:
Is there a way to adjust the picture of PS2 games on PS3 (besides the Full screen and smooth on/off option)? All the games I have played looked worse than when I hooked up the ps2 with component.... not sure why (everything is noticeably darker/washed out).
Something's gone wrong.

More useful than a game machine.
B-Ri, turning on the upscaling helps, but the color is still washed out. I was playing FFXII and MGS2. Maybe that's just the way things are... when I play BC titles on 360, it is washed out too!!
I'm still waiting for the PS3 to display widescreen PS2 games in the proper format. 16:10 is not 16:9, if there was at least include a manual stretch option instead of having black bars on the sides of my TV I'd be happier.
my only real suggestion is to do some double checking on your tv color ands et up, i know PS2 color in games look really great on my TV since i have the HDMI and turn on the full color range mode (i posted it on the last dead thread, how to find if your TV does support it).
as for manual stretch, yes please, on all consoles. Bars = eyes bleed.
like i said you need to see if your TV truely supports it, cause it WILL do a difference in picture. I think most LCDs (that double as monitors) support it, but its really just the test i posted earlier (id find it but im getting ready to run out the door).
Its not going to make them as vivid and bright as current gen games, but itll hopefully look better and have to you, a noticeable color range.
Mja doesn't sound that interesting, TGS better deliver.

Be prepared to pay $8-$9 an issue. It's a great magazine, but I quit buying it because of the price.
They lowered GameTM in the states now (at least Barnes and Noble) to $7.99. If you work at Gamestop or Barnes and Noble, after your employee discount it's only like 5 bucks. The Retro section alone is worth it.
Confirmed. <3 GamesTM.
IGN UK Heavenly Sword review.

I completely agree. I wasn't very impressed with the demo. The crazy part of the review is the fact that only 3-4 hours of the 7 hour game is based around fighting, which apparently is the best part of the game.
Quite unfortunate that all of the games Sony was counting on being AAA ended up being average overall. Or so most reviews have been saying. Especially since I would really like to have a solid PS3 game to play.
I guess, but I thought those games looked mega bland from the moment they were first shown, even in concept form. None of the developers involved were AAA either. I don't get where the hype came from in the first place.
I get the same vibe looking at Little Big Planet, I cannot for the life of me understand where peoploe are getting the impression that it's some earthshaking event. It looks like half the games on XBLA.
I think next year is going to make or break the PS3; that's when the stuff thst looks genuinely good hits, as opposed to the manufactured hype stuff that they're tossing out now. Other than that, I think the only really good looking exclusives they have this year are Ratchet & Clank & Uncharted.
LBP almost looks like a physics based interactive Rube Goldberg machine, coupled with the ability to share those with the community. I like it.
Damn, Dallas/Texas has almost the same stupid high tax rate as NYC. Fuck'em. Move to New Hampshire for no sales tax. :)
Wait, we don't have sales tax on magazines tho.
Did no one play the Folklore demo? It was pretty good. Decent use of the Sixaxis and good variety of monster abilities. I was surprised at how it was more an action game than an RPG.
IGN US reviewed Heavenly Sword.

I am very excited about Folklore. Love the style
Uncharted has potential. But that could very well turn out to be average.
I trust Naughty Dog. I'm pretty sure I won't be able to get out of buying that, so my first PS3 game will be purchased before the system has been out a year. Damn.
R&C does NOTHING for me. I never liked it much before and the new one looks like the same thing. Pass. WTF, I use to LOVE PLaystations.
See I never liked Crash Bandicoot very much and never played Jak & Daxter so I don't have very many expectations for the game. I have heard great things about the Jak games though. I'm also in the same boat as EvilMog, R&C didn't do anything for me. I tried to like the games, but they never really drew me into the experience as much as I would have liked them to.
R&C is Insomniac. I don't like those either.
Yeah, I realize that, the only reason I mentioned it was because Mog did.
Sucker Punch is the SCEA first party that matters.
i think people are expecting too much from blindfire, it is what it is. Just speed up the cursor more when aiming and id be happy. They're very inspired by gears of war so im sure theyre tightening it up
I didn't know there is a Hori Fighting Stick released here. It was 39.99 but it seems to be smaller than the Arcade Pro stick I have for PS2.... Is this stick any good?
for those who DO like the GT series.

Am I mistaken or are they actually expecting people to buy essentially what is a demo of GT5? Why not just wait until the real game comes out? This is fuckin retarded.Quote:

OMG are they serious? Reverse tracks? That is amazing and has never been done before. I'm sure the game will be fun and look amazing, but they already have the brief and lackluster demo of GTHD out, and why would anyone pay to play a half assed version of GT5 when they could just wait for the full version of the game?Quote:

Prologue should be free as an apology for the sorry lineup this year.

Still, though, I honestly don't "get" why anyone would want to play Gran Turismo for long. I've tried and tried and tried and every time it leaves me cold. Considering how behind on demos we are, and the less-than-stellar reviews their big titles are getting, GT is not what they need to be pushing right now.
So the biggest mistake is pushing one of its biggest mainstream titles? 16 player online, cockpit view, damage. Its caught a lot of the features its been missing and still keeping high end visuals that have stood out in the series.
Also all these less-than-steller review arguments are hilarious, 1 magazine shoots a game down and then instantly game SUCKS. Reviews for Lair are lower then expected, ok sure. Heavenly sword has a huge up and down difference, and Warhawk are all hitting about the same range. RELAX. Try the games.
As for their demos, theyve already stated on their official blog theyre listening and getting more. As more an dmore of their 1st and 3rd party high profile games come out, more demos will come out.
"I wanna buy warhawk but i want a demo." Itll come, sorry but xbox live doesnt always get demos before the game releases either.
I really wonder how many people are fronting when they get boners over GT. Honestly. Yeah, the media lets us know that we're supposed to like it every time a new one drops, but the dirt-clod IQ of the average gamer, I'm surprised that anyone has the patience to stick with or enjoy the game. The appeal is lost on me when driving an actual car in traffic is more enjoyable to me, and I can't be the only one.
When demos of games that both 360 and PS3 are getting hit at the same time, then I'll be happy. Until then, sure, I'd love to relax and try the games... if they provide me a method to do so and stop delaying them. The Heavenly Sword demo was a nice if not comically brief look at the basics of the gameplay. Not sure if I'll throw down $60 on it. But little is going to get in the way of me getting Lair, but I'd like to know why they delayed it in the first place. Looking forward to Stranglehold too... kind of disappointed that we still don't have the demo, though. But we've been over this.
As for Warhawk, yeah, it's a steep price for an online-only title that's totally unproven. And before the argument comes up again, yes, Shadowrun was too, and look how that sold. If they didn't irk me with restrictions on the downloadable version, I might already be playing it. It does look quite good, but I would definitely like a chance to play it before throwing down for it.
If the online patch for Tekken slips again this week, I will not be a happy camper. No sir. At least September is going to bring some real releases our way.
Good question, considering it's free.
Why are you getting defensive?
So, warhawk looks like hot shit. And it won't scale down to poo poo 480p. I might pick it up.
Yea I'm picking up the Blu version as well, dunno when they decide to release it here though (PSN is tomorrow).
Found the last blu version in my local area. Installing.
Fuck it, I will be getting Warhawk tomorrow. You assholes better be playing it though. I don't want another PS3 game sitting on my shelf collecting dust.
AHHHHHHH! GamePro!
Picked up Warhawk on PSN. For some stupid reason the retail version ships in three weeks over here, the price was 280sek vs 599sek so it was a no brainer really.
I can't seem to hit anything on the ground or pilot the warhawk so I man every turret I can find which is awesome.
Piloting the Warhawk is simple susan. It took me maybe like 5 minutes w/o reading the manual to get the gist of it.
Every time I change into.. uh speed mode(?) I fly around like I'm drunk.
It'll just take a little bit. In no time you'll be doing barrel rolls, boosting to the homing missiles and looping away from missiles.
so SONY keeps ass humping early adopters. you pay $500 for a 20gig and a couple months later the 60gig is the same price. then the people who bought the 60gig for $500 will be pleased to see the 80gig with pack-ins for probably $500 in a couple months.
:td:
I rather have the 60 gig with EE chip than the 80 gig without.
Why is that?
99.9% perfect emulation.
I need to pick up an EE PS3 one of these days soon. Need to find out what model numbers have it and what don't for when I go used shopping.
The article means that 60 gig PS3's in Sonystyle stores are gone. They even say that there's still plenty on third party and online retailers. You have until Christmas, even well beyond, to easily pick one up.
There will be more through Christmas. There were already 2 million or so unsold systems, and they aren't moving fast (although November and December will be big)
Ill be online at about 12:30pst of anyone wants to get a group going for warhawk
