I love the goofy accents. I don't care what this game originally said in Japan.

It was a great game, but I don't think it's especially fun anymore. The finale fizzles (hehehehrmpijustminithr-). The game gives you the feeling that the first 20 or so hours of vignettes are going to be so worth it when all these guys come together in the end and everything coheres. Then it just kinda doesn't.
I forget why else I didn't like it when I played the DS one at launch. Can't find my Completion Thread post.
I think I'm just gonna get a head start on DQV. If I don't like that one anymore, then I guess I just don't like DQ anymore. Not liking DQIII GBC two months ago was troubling. Made me ask some tough questions of myself.
I understand that it's a part of the old rpg mechanic, but I'm really tired of having to walk around the initial town for an hour fighting shit in order to earn enough experience, money, and gear so that I can go to the next town and repeat the process all over again. I'm trying to get my head into a space where I can enjoy the script but I don't know. The stereotypical Claremontisms really bug the fuck out of me.
I didn't care for V much. Finished it though. VII and VIII are the only two Ive really liked
I find V to be the most replayable. The capture rate for most monsters is pretty low compared to Pokémon, and there are so many of those guys that unless you're grinding to get specific/all monsters, DQV can be an entirely different game from one playthrough to the next.
It also helps that it's relatively short. Especially the DS version. DQVII has high variance with monster skills too, but nobody has ever played that game all the way though even once; its replayability is strictly theoretical at this point.
There are rumors dog$ has done so, but I'm pretty sure he's just a Google bot experiment with a neural-net processor.
I actually never finished the post ending optional stuff in 7. Never fought God, never got a town finalized. I don't think I did the latter at least, I know I didn't do the former. I know I tried having everyone learn every possible monster skill for a while, though. I managed to do that much with 6.
I think I got fed up with how frequently the game crashed while playing it on PS2 with the enhancements.
(I really don't know why I clicked on the thread.)
(I wonder if DQH2 will get a price drop as soon as the first one did. I'm interested to get it but not in any particular hurry at the moment.)
I'm probably going to skip dqh2 and wait for 3 while hoping its everything I imagine it could be. Unless tnlers want to play online.
I'll find my cart of IV. If I can get past god awful Ragnar speak I'll play it through
This is worse...
