Why would the government be paying for this? Do we even know what was responsible as of yet? Obviously it's not terrorism, but it could be the construction company (Or did it say they were government employee's) fault.

40 years old they should have noticed some wear and tear on the bridge if there was any. Aren't bridges inspected every year?

Even if no one was going to sue the Minnesota transportation, they'd still have to shell out A LOT of money to clear away the debris and re-build the bridge.
The senior designer at my work was JUST THERE for a wedding. When I say just there I literally mean 30 seconds down the road at the nearby church. He crossed that bridge. I'm convinced this guy is fucking cursed as hell. He went to England for another wedding a month or so ago and now that place is having huge flooding issues.
I wonder if my Law of Acceleration would have saved them?
