I'm in the beta and i have three things to say:
1. Org went from the worst city to the best city. They didn't just update it, it's completely new. EVERY single building was taken out, they took the canyon that existed and started over. There's a tauren section, troll section, goblin section. All extremely detailed and all the new buildings in the main areas are very nuts. They also made it almost twice as big with HUGE areas leading to Ashzara or whatever. No more going all the way around if you're a low level.
2. Worgens are cool but Goblins are fucking growing on me. Especially female goblins, I'll likely race change to that if I play in Cata.
3. Hyjal is fucking lame.
Artec, Sam and I tried Halion last night... shit's no jokes. Even the trash is kinda like WUT. The minibosses are definitely more involved than OS. Halion him(her?)self is a really cool fight.
Oh, I was the first one to zone in so I explored around a bit... you can get inside the big tree that has the quest Belf vanilla CoT-style without killing the first miniboss... but you can't get out. =(
Kudos to Artec for finding a rather awesome pug. We steamrolled ICC 25 last Friday. 11/12, I finally got the 3 wing achievements I was missing. No loot to speak of.
Ofecks, you left at a terrible time last night, we literally downed it the next attempt after you logged. Good news is no caster loot dropped whatsoever.
So shadow apparitions is broken, instead of sending out a blast that is 15% of a mindblast they just have it sending out free actual Mind Blasts right now. I dotted up four target dummies in Undercity, rand around non stop so I had a 60% chance to proc one every time pain ticked (which by the way scales with your current haste now, it ticks faster but the duration is the same so if someone bloodlust/heroisms you just get more ticks while the buff is up, you dont need to recast to get the haste or even recast more often, it's just free damage and in this case free procs on shadow apparaitions) I procced one of these free 5k hit 11k crit monsters. Grinding is a joke right now, if you pain someone thing and run away you've basically guaranteed like 40-50k damage on it, so you just pain EVERYTHING you can find, you literally could never dot enough targets since all those hits heal a spriest for 25%. Also inner fire isn't it's own armor anymore, it gives you an additional 87% armor from all items, so if you had the armor trinket from RS you could get 5k armor from it. I run around, as a cloth wearer, with 47.9% reduced damage from armor, with 15% more from shadow form.
The armor thing is so nuts I LITERALLY tanked one of the new 5 mans, since there is no defence cap to worry about anymore. I had 40k health, technically 60 reduced damage, and I heal myself for insane. Obviously all going to get fixed by the retail, but the people in the group were blown away.
