Trial, Dave chose not to hear me when I told him I wasn't going to transfer right away because

1. I'm broke
2. I'm jobless
3. When I find a job I won't have time to play for awhile and
4. I'm not buying WOTLK right away.
5. I just buried my father yesterday.
6. I might have to go to Bermuda soon for awhile with the brothers I never knew I had who I just met, to meet those who haven't met me.

Reading this again, not gonna defend rets, it's well known they are very overpower currently, but that won't last long as I pointed out soon another patch built will roll out and they won't have that burst damage anymore.

However as melee you will always have a hard time against ret pallies, If he is expecting a stun coming up it's a matter of switching to 1h+shield will make all of your melee damage counts for almost nothing, if one of you were a spellcaster (or heck a mana burner class like a lock/priest/hunter) the out come would have been different. My guess he was probably well decked with enough res that makes your class (rogue) a crit based class count for almost nothing, all you probably could have done was actually stun him when he was about to heal and eat him up with rupture/rend (Kite him around let him burn mana on blessings and heals as he can't touch you but dots ticking from poisons and rupture/rend as that ignores armor. Were you assass dagger built by any chance?

Ret certainly can't stand as it is, but I'm sort of worried that they'll take us too far in the other direction. Granted, anything they can do to us will still probably be better than pre-3.0, but it's hard not to be concerned.

I doubt you honestly have much to worry about. Even in the expansion you should be quite alright. Any nerf will probably come after we are all 80 and we see how this rebalance actually works.
