Or if you're only doing 10 mans it'll even out. If it was a waitlist for a 10m then I understand, but if you've only got 10 people going for shit you'll get it the same as if you were in a 25 and losing a roll to some underperforming douche.

I saw DBW get given to a shaman for his enhancement OS. I just about cried.
I think they should make 10 mans harder than 25 and have better loot, as there are less people to carry bads.
What I would really like is for them to do huge 5 man dungeons that are retarded hard and have crazy boss mechanics that require you to be good at your class. The Icecrown 5 mans were a small step in the right direction, but it should take 6 hours to complete with many optional bosses and shit.
I think there should be sex in World of Warcraft.
David, we already cyber like every day. What more do you want?
If Brett has any sense, he went to another loot council guild. While mistakes happen there even with an honest LC, it's nothing as prevalent as relying on dice.
That said, even though I'm not still playing (And seriously fucking hope I don't fall back in - though being in this thread so much doesn't bode well), I'm with you on the 10 man deal. I intended that guild to be a 10 man, just the friends I could rely on sort of thing. Then it kind of got out of hand.
Taking loot lust/prestige bullshit out of the equation would have made sticking to that a lot easier.
I did.
The GM is a DK tank who took Shadowmourne, when I talked to him about it he just leveled with me, all his melee was within a year fresh in the guild and he's main tanked on one toon or another since Vanilla so the loot council trusted him with it more than anyone else.
I have mixed feelings about the expansion for just this reason.Quote:

On the one hand there is no question that the top min/max guilds in the world will run with 25, even if by extra badges they mean one per boss that still means you get literally 150% the badge intake a week over someone who runs 10s, and if Tier is purchased with that in mind, people going for world first will not be wasting the badges every week by playing with 10 people. I just got into Og but they already sound like they are going to stick with 25s.
At the same time I don't know that I even care if any casual 10 can get the same stuff two weeks later.
And lastly, I think I'd almost rather just have 10 people I can depend on being there everyday so people not showing up isn't a problem. Not to mention with the right group you have like 0 loot contention, so even if you're shard some stuff, the first time someone you want drops it's basically yours.
If they really make it so that you can reach max badges in 10 mans they might as well just remove 25 mans.
Still like, a fucking year till we see this game anyway. Who knows what will change before then, but if this 10 mans are the only way to raid thing happens I'm done. I'm not gonna worry about being in the "good" 10 man when I've worked so hard to get into a good 25 guild.
Why? 10 mans are joke content, you could probably farm it with your alts in a decent guild.
lol @ Opaque being such a elitist that he might quit the game if 10 man guilds can get the same gear he can get.
From a raider standpoint, I might still be able to see the allure of 25s in Cat. Maybe. Kind of. From a GM standpoint, that's fucking retarded. You have to have a really tiny cock for the e-peen to be that important. Signing up for that much more stress, drama, all of it when you get absolutely nothing but the dorkiest kind of bragging rights?
This probably doesn't apply to the highest of high-end guilds where people just show up and do their jobs but for your average GM there is absolutely nothing but negatives to 25s now. Question the manhood of anyone you raid under in Cat, Brett.
lol. There's a LOT more stress in top world guilds where even the tiniest of mistakes gets nerd-raged at.
It's more that I'm getting bored.
If raiding, which is the only thing I look forward to, is getting so dummed down that any pug of ten people can get BiS gear, then there's just nothing left for me to enjoy here.
I've played over 100 days of WoW during WotLK, going for server firsts and the such is the only fun thing left, you take that out and it's just any other game I've played for way to long.
Retard, you joined the game AFTER it had already been dumbed down. The same shit was being said by 40 man guilds ("No way I will raid after it goes down to 25, this game is getting way too casual friendly"), of course they all stuck around and eventually realized the change was a good one - exactly what will happen in Cataclysm.
I'm sure the 25 man raids will have cosmetic things that are unobtainable in 10 mans, either titles or achievement rewards or tabards or mounts... people will still do them. But now instead of having different loot being in seperate versions of the same instance, you won't have to run 10 man ICC just for some trinket or something because you need an upgrade for one slot that the 25 man raid doesn't have.
As I said, if that's the case I still might play.
But at it's core, the game mechanics of WoW aren't enough to make me keep playing anymore. There needs to be something you're playing for, and because of my personality, playing to get the exact same shit as 40 million other people isn't enough justification to play a game I'm getting bored with.
gay for loot confirmed.
That's not even close to the kind of stress I mean but that's twice you've wandered in here today with zero clue what you're talking about.
If one of Kungen's guys is fucking up it's as simple "Stop fucking up or we will find one of the thousands of people who are begging to get in to not fuck up for you." It's not "Oh but if I get rid of so and so then this person might be gone with them. And the server is light on tanks as is. Can I really afford that? But Jesus they/their attitude sucks."
It's never a constant struggle between carrying people and progressing, keeping the bad as the cost paid to keep the good, etc. It runs like a business and you either do your job or you don't have it.
There's a difference between being gay for loot and having reward be the reason you keep playing something.
What's your favorite game from three years ago? Do you still play it 16 hours a week? Probably not, and why? Because there's fucking nothing left to do anymore.
I'm currently in a guild that competes at the world level, this most recent buff is probably the last thing they need to sink a Heroic Arthas kill. After that, stepping down to casual level just doesn't make any sense. I'd rather just play a new game.
This Opaque tantrum seems vaguely familiar...
HALO 2 LOLOLOL
Halo 2 was similar, yeah.
After like 5000 hours on that game playing just to play wasn't fun anymore. I played for rank and leader boards, they took those down and it lost it's fun. I don't understand how this is a hard concept for you guys. I don't see any of you watching the exact same movie every single day of your lives, no matter how good it is. I don't know of anyone on this board that kept playing the same FFVII save for another two years after they had killed everything, just because doing random encounters against level 50s was so awesome! I got bored of wow a while ago but it's fun to rank worldwide on encounters, I don't see the harm in that.
Besides, why do you care if I keep playing anyway?
I still play. Most of us in this thread have been playing longer than you - people like Mzo are taking their first break pretty much ever.
We'll most likely continue to play - even if 25 man raids offer no additional bonus over 10 mans... because we don't care about worldwide status, like most people.
The best bit is that they're the same guys who would brag about their lolbears and killing Kael in like t11 gear just because you hadn't yet so they are absolutely all about the epeen. Long since left in the dust, all they can do is denounce being like that to save some face.
But I still have you all beat because I have a fucking phoenix and the Immortal title. OH SNAP BRETT I WENT THERE WAY TO BE LATE
It's funny how anyone would care about their WORLDWIDE STATUS regarding a game like this.
World of Warcraft is easy. All it takes to succeed is half a brain, a decent computer and way, WAY too much time to waste. And then 24 other people just like that.
We just did that shit to make fun of Opaque because he only did that shit after another nerf or two. And I think we were in ZA gear when we did it - we didn't even really bother with Black Temple until post 3.0
None of us have ever really cared about clearing raids at the "front of the pack" or whatever. We realized a long time ago that fighting the server on patch day to kill the first boss of Bullshit Lair is beyond retarded.
Which is fine, I played for the first year feeling the same way. If it's still fun keep doing it.
But I don't have fun playing it anymore, at least, I don't have fun because of the mechanics of the game anymore. Truth be told if there were no WoL type parse sites that rank dps I probably would have quite after I killed Arthas in 25 normal. I basically keep going because my competitive nature wants to see what I can do before the expansion ends.
WoW moving to an even more casual nature wouldn't matter to me if I still found the base mechanics of this game entertaining. Or if all the people I raided with in the beginning of this expansion still played, but that's not the case. I'd rather just play FFXIII or Reach instead of dicking around with people I don't know in content that anyone can do for rewards everyone will get.
Ha. I'll buy that from you but not all of them. Some of these guys don't seem nearly as sensible as the rest.
Also. Tease him about the Immortal. Do it. Do it.
It sounds like you are in need of a break - to be honest.
The game is a fun game, but once you get into that mode of playing it every day, it's only a matter of time before you aren't really enjoying yourself and a week off will make you not want to log on at all.
I've been on both sides of that feeling. Right now I log on about once every few days - but my girlfriend is leveling like four different characters to 80 (meanwhile, she hasn't played since Vanilla)
The great thing about 10 mans is that you can actually find 10 people you like and want to raid with.
When I raided 40 man dungeons, I like about 25% of the people in the raid. When I raided 25 man dungeons, I liked maybe half of the raid. My hope is that when I am doing 10 man dungeons, I will like everyone in my vent channel
ALSO: Can't you still get the Immortal? I need Undying/Immortal/Starcaller like a motherfucker. My go to title lately is 'the Exalted'
Nah. But only because I never cared about those. But really, grats on the world first. I'd have had it on KJ, pre-Hand of the Deceiver, had Innate not sucked and wiped at 3%. Or post-Hand of the Deceiver had Innate not sucked and actually showed up the next week instead of halting BC raiding.
Really the only thing you could get now that I'd give a shit about is Invincible. Get to work!
Edit: That's actually one of the things I DO miss about raiding pre-88. Before I was leading I was easily one of the best in the world at my class/spec which, geeky as it is, felt pretty damned good.
It was all RNG to be honest. Nothing more than my rotation being able to crank out X dps if I never got any negative debuffs of any sort.
If we were going to talk about actual honest rankings I give a shit about it would be US 9th on 25 HM Saurfang with 13.6k dps. THAT was something that actually took a little bit of skill and strategy.
If I win a roll on one I'll make sure to post a shot.
I'll even crop in my insanely large cock so you guys understand what I'm talking about when I say that playing this game has turned me into a fucking horse dicked god. I would hope atleast one person on this board has figured out at this point that while I enjoy competing at this game I'm not stupid enough to think it actually fucking matters.
Do that and we can fly around together blasting A Whole New World over vent. And sucking each other off. It will be amazing.
I really want to sell some of my characters, I have 6 80s jesus.
wow lol
I miss the egg room of racism.
We used to summon people without the ability to fly up to the islands in Nagrand and force them to jump off. The best was when a mage or priest got cute and tried to Slow Fall/Levitate down, because we always picked an island right above the horde town in Nagrand anyway.
Depending what time you fags raid, i might transfer over if you can use a non-retarded rogue (atleast in pve) or a backup for despair.
edit: for cataclysm.
lol Despair
Landfish.
One and only :)
Yeah Blizzard took an interesting approach with the friend and family alpha.
Instead of trying to hide the deathwing character model, they just said fuck it and slammed it right in your face so people wouldn't bother digging.
Holy balls, Deathwing is huge.
I almost get excited for this game, but being in MST fuck it, I can't play with RF so why play at all.
This is how everybody should feel.
So if anyone wants to buy an 80 priest, hunter, mage, warrior, DeathKnight, and paladin let me know!

Oh hey, a WoW thread.
I've been playing this shit again. For the last couple months. Playing another Warrior.
I'm coming up on 5.8k GearScore in my PVP threads, but stuck around 5k in tanking gear -- I've only been 7/12 into ICC10 so far. The guys I found to run with can't seem to DPS Oozes fast enough on Putricide.
Wish I had some arena peeps, I need rating for a new weapon desperately.
Stock reply: Come to Shattered Hand and play with RF. I promise our fuckery won't drive you to suicide.
Or: NSHDC
I love how we've trained Vlos over the years for this shit.
haha, I was going to say... we've molded ourselves an almost-acceptable TNL poster, and it only took FIVE YEARS.
Now all he needs to do is get access to the singles warpact and maybe he'll get his dick wet.
LOL, unlikely.
I remember high school vlos.
God he was obnoxious.
Vlos is my only legacy - if I don't have sons, I am leaving everything to him
Who is this Vlos guy and does he shop Game Craze and therefore hate me?
He's just some lazy guy with a lazy eye.
A Game Craze-y guy with a lazy eye
