Or they brought in two more on Sapph who also wanted the Undying title, figuring they could finish dedicated few this week.
They got Undying. Seriously, having led two Immortal runs, that shit isn't that hard.

You guys are fucking fools.
We got to Saph with only 8 people in the run and thought it would be dumb to only get 8 people the title so we brought in a full group.
I know Undying must seem super difficult to you guys, but the only reason we didn't have it until now is because we don't do 10 man.
lol, teasing you =/= unable to do it ourselves.
This shit is sad and needs to stop people. Also, is it just me or does Opaque take his online game playing way too seriously (same thing when he played Halo 2).
ps I'm levelin' a droodz.
The solution is, we can make a non SH version of the WoW thread where exactly 2 people can talk about whatever people not on SH do. I'm assuming it's homoerotic sex acts
that's weird, I could have sworn we got undying a month ago in a run with two alts and a shaman who had never been to naxx before.
Which is why it's funny you guys immediately assume that we failed at an easy achievement.
No one said it was a big deal but... I think it was Trial. Who used it to dog our shit. That would be why he sarcastically said that.
But if our presence here really bugs you that much that so many of your guild flip out like kids, we can keep it up.
And say toon.
Toooooooooooooooon.
All you guys take this shit too seriously. Fags like that ruin the game.
He's pretty much always been like this when it comes to online games. Of course with WoW it's not like Halo, because in Halo he really was an ridiculously accomplished.
In WoW he still has no idea how nerfed the game he's playing really is, and how uninteresting it's really become to people who've played it since the beginning. It's been explained to him multiple times already the reason he's being singled out is the fact the he has the nerve to come in here and talk to people who've played this game for 3+ years or more, tell them what's up and why what what he's doing is better than what they are doing. We get he enjoys endgame.
We get that he takes endgame seriously, a lot more seriously than most of us do right now. But he's missing the joke most of us are making that there is no endgame left to take seriously anymore. A pug can complete moderate endgame now. That it's a joke and (unfortunately) his accomplishments will always be diminished in light of how hard the game used to be, is something he cannot seem to grasp.
I will say this. there's a lot of misinterpreted sarcasm in the posts from both sides of this shit that has really snowballed this into a bigger confusing mess than it should be.
By this logic I wasn't good at Halo 2 because I didn't play the original.
Just because I missed out on Vanilla WoW doesn't mean I don't take this content for what it is and also doesn't mean what I'm capable of wouldn't have been exactly the same back then.
Actually that's exactly what it means.
Raiding doesn't work even REMOTELY the same way as it did back then.
First of all, you wouldn't have been a shadow priest. Nothing but a raid group with slots to spare would allow you to roll that way and come on a raid. If you rolled a priest, you rolled a healer. End of discussion.
Second of all, you would have taken it this seriously, and by doing that, you would have failed. New raiding content and individual bosses back then could at times take months to master. Some guilds blew through some bosses, but everyone had a boss that raped them and no matter how you changed their strats, you still might not find a way deal with it with your current make up as a guild.
Sorry man. It's not even close to the same. No one is saying you aren't doing fantastic now, but to even begin to compare what you do know with how the game used to be shows how ignorant of the game you actually are.
The Halo 2 analogy is apples/oranges man. A completely silly comparison. WoW is the same game, having gone through changes. Halo 2 is a sequel and a completely different game than the original.
Either way, Lighten up. The game was a lot harder back then, but it was also a lot less immediately satisfying and fun. Especially as a guild master. Take my word for it. Your expectations and perfectionism would have been your undoing in vanilla WoW. You couldn't lead raids you like you do in the current game, because success was never guaranteed by effort. You could try all you wanted and never get a boss down.
3 drake Sarth costs guilds a couple of weeks of trying out strats till they find the one that fits, and eventually it will.
Nefarian and C'thunn ended entire guilds because some groups of people simply couldn't grasp the fights.
This is what I don't get though: why do you assume it would have broken me, of all people?
Friends of mine, who still take it much more serious than I do, got the world first AQ20 but were completely torn apart by AQ40 over the following months, but they still play. Yeah the guild was destroyed, but they didn't quit the game.
Odds are I would have been in the exact same guild at that time, which means I would have moved servers when they did and thus had the same problems there and ended up here with Curtis anyway.
The only difference I see is I would have had some T3, I would have had full T6 when it still counted and I might have a different character (but come on, if I can top DPS as a Spriest I'm sure I would have done fine as a Mage or Warlock). Other than that I'd still be in the same place.
Are Spriests still broken?
Not even a little.
Come 3.1 we will probably be (mathmatically and only if the current build and themes stay true) capable of the most dps of any class on both single target and aoe (if your Spriests aren't absolutely destroying everyone in aoe, even without realizing that they can have a DK spread their DP, they should be very ashamed of themselves). The only reason I can see for this is that most Shadow players have no idea at all how to play the class. The only, and I stress only, spriest on my server that can hang within 1k dps of me is one that I taught to play the way I do; so if you assume that blizzard is looking at the average dps they do, it's no wonder I'm getting a buff.
I never said you wouldn't be playing or would quit.
I said you have no idea what hard is in this game. That's all.
In 3 years you'll be on your way out of the game, wishing to never play again, and some nub will come up to you and talk about how much more hardcore he is than you, and you'll laugh him off the way we laugh you and your achievements off now. Then you'll understand.
Your server must bite flacid dick.
My second half is nothing new.
It happens right now. Spriests can do more aoe dps than any other class in the game if they know what they are doing. Fuck, even with Sear alone a well geared one should top charts, but if you're smart enough to DP a Skull target that a DK is obviously going after you can get it spread through out the mobs and get an extra 500dps per mob bonus.
Wow, Dan, I can't really wrap my head around people not being able to "grasp" Nef. C'thun I'll give you as worthy of his guild killing reputation though.
Sunwell wasn't a joke either and I'm still holding out hope that at the end of this xpac they'll toss in one more soul crushing raid. If they do, he'll be tested then but he really is great at the game now. I'm all for calling out the cocky new kid but if he can hang with good mages putting out 5k+ to nearly 6 on Patch, has raid awareness and can take care of himself in the encounters... He'd have done fine back then, even if it were a different class.
This is starting to piss me off if for no reason other than that I don't like coming in here to defend him. There's about a thousand things to rag on Brett for. Making shit up isn't necessary. I'll give you one to start with: I think he and my top mage are in love. Extremely gay love. Run with it.
Look, right now Brett, the rest of my guild and I are going to be psyched. I had all of nine people on my first raid day and a friend writing over at WoW Insider tipped me off to the fact that we got Immortal puts us in the top 1.7% of all guilds. We're the only guys on the server with the title and our members will start collecting their black protos this week. This is my last run, too. I'm done after this expansion. I know it, my officers know it and I haven't kept it a secret from the membership. So yes, as lame as it is, we all get excited about the things we accomplish in this game and if I get to go out on top of the server, having just built this guild from the ground up, fucking awesome.
Toon.
I happily played elemental shaman when I was leveling him up, took my time, got to 60, joined a guild and wept silently to myself when I learned that I would be healing instead of helping kill the boss.
That would not be the case now. It still could be based on the guild you are in but we run with a n elemental shaman and man he does amazing damage.
We downed Malygos two nights ago *10 man* for the first time. My two roommates and I run our own 10 man guild and attempted him for the first time. We wiped three times and then destroyed him. Either we were over geared or they really have made these new encounters super easy.
We used to slam our dicks up againist a new boss back in the day spending a week or two trying to finally slay a boss. Then cheering like crazy when we did. After 3 attempts and killing Mayl we were all like "umm okay...now what".
I don't know are we just late to the tea partyand have all to much good gear? Should we just of attempted him a month ago?
Btw, C'thun downing him for the first time as a guild almost turned me gay I wanted to kiss my roommates after throwing myself at him for about 2 and half week straight.
Well Curtis Nef was the, "You're either good enough to hang in end game, or you're about to find out about the wonders of Pvp for the rest of your time playing." encounter. It's hard to grasp him being hard.
I don't remember if you had started playing by then, but most raiding guilds at 60 that were at all serious did kill him, but it was still some ridiculous number like 90% of the WoW population hadn't killed him by the time BC came out.
C'thunn was the. "Why the hell am I doing this to myself and my guild there's barely any upgrades in this place lets just do Naxx, encounter."
No it wasn't at all. I mean relative of course, to before the massive raid boss nerfs and dps buffs. I'm not questioning his ability btw. Not in the least. I'm telling him he doesn't know hard in this game. That's all. It's an ego thing.Quote:

Btw, I find it funny Curtis of all the soul crushing posts in this thread directed towards him, you pick mine to come out against? I'm by far being the least hostile about this.
This is gonna go on forever, my advice would be to just stop coming in here and reading it. Even if I let it go, no one else will.Quote:

There's nothing lame about it at all. It's sentimental man. I've been there. I led a guild on a different server in Wow for over a year. Rebuilt it from the ground up. I know the feeling of being able to say you did it all on your own man. It's like nothing else in gaming. Unfortunately it's rare and fleeting in these types of games since not everyone is or has been a guild master.Quote:

Knowing when to walk away is admirable, considering I should have done that long ago myself. Good luck I hope you get to go out ranking wherever you want to be.
Dear GOD this thread sucks.
I've been selling the spellthread you get at exalted for three months now.
I experienced my first ninja last night. was bored, so i pugged OS25, and the master looter took everything. It was hillarious.
I spent 2 hours in a 25 man pug nax and killed 2 bosses. I never want to pug ever again. Which server are you all on anyway?
Sahttered Hand Alliance.
For shame, Horde Darkspear
I used to play Alliance back in college, I was young and stupid it was peer pressure. I didn't enhale.
Hay guys. I'm going to multibox 2 accounts with the refer-a-friend bonus xp. I've been testing it with KeyClone and 2 mages, but I don't actually want 2 mages.
Has anyone tried multiboxing 2 different classes? I was thinking a melee and a healer class (maybe a Warrior and a Priest). I'm not sure how I'd work the keybinds though.
Multiboxing is lol, though. Twice (or three or four or five) times the damage for half (or a third or a quarter or a fifth) of the mana!
I've seen a paladin with 4 shaman heals (and ganked them all LOL).
Inhale :(
I don't understand what all the arguments are about.
Everyone that posts here is probably extremely good at playing easy games like World of Warcraft.
The difference is that Curtis has found a lot of other people who are also good at the game while we have a lot of mediocre people that we have to put up with in order to raid. Pretty near everything in WoW is based off your team's effort, no matter how good you are.
Even when WoW was hard it was easy, the difficulty only comes in filling out your raid.
Did you quest on both accounts?
I was wondering if I quested on the referred account and granted levels as I got them, if that would keep the invitee account up to level. Rather than having to switch windows each time I accept/hand in a quest. I dunno if it'd be enough though.
I quested, did my 2 characters and then gave levels to a 3rd character that I already had at 30+. When it was all said and done I had a 60 Sham, Druid, and Priest.
Sounds like a plan :)
Oh no, Dan, should have been more specific. The only thing that I was directly commenting to you on was the vanilla bosses deal. The rest was just general stuff about the thread.
I'm also surprised that no one latched on to bit about Opaque and one of my mages eloping. Because I'm serious.
PS - We did it.
Nice grats.
I don't fucking follow?
Fucking awesome Curtis.
The best chance we have at an Immortal run would also be the 20 man run, cutting out some of the people that always, always tend to mess up.
Since wotlk came out I feel our general DPS is not up to snuff, which is weird since we've always had healer/tank issues and amazing DPS until now... it seems the situation has reversed itself, which makes progression possible but achievements like fast kills or kill something with a few people damn near impossible =[
Recruiting people is still hard right now, and I assume this is because it's easy to just pug a Naxx 25/Sarth/Maly and have access to most of the gear in the game. Maybe if Ulduar cranks up the difficulty more fence-sitters will have to align themselves with a guild just to see the content so I can snap them up.
We only have ONE raiding healing priest (who is amazing, but still), no stable shaman and no competent DK DPS at all. Like at all. They all want to tank with their shitty gear and no reflexes, fuck them.
None of the DKs there can do any decent DPS? That's depressing.
So once I have the gold for epic flying, is there a drake or something easy enough to obtain that i should skip buying an epic mount?
Also Mzo I would appreciate it if you would upgrade my forum account. I haven't seen you logged on to ask you.
P.S. I'm busting my ass to double your number of raiding healing priests. :P
There is a bronze drake in CoT that is stupid easy to get.
I'm sure your guildies can run you to it.
I just got it right before the servers went down! I recently transferred to a server where most of my old guildies have been playing since the latter part of BC, and I've been moving up through heroics and might finally get to do some raiding soon. This is the first time I'll be getting the whole endgame experience, and I'm actually having fun with the game again. It's nice.
If I can get the refer a friend thing going I'll work on leveling with the priest I started on SH, but otherwise I doubt I'm gonna want to do much other than play the 80 I do have.
I think our one priest might have transferred off the server.
WAT
Oh Good Old RF LOL
WTB BLUE CAPE
We got Thori'dal, the Stars' Fury tonight. Good news is our guild has one Hunter so it was undisputed.
EDIT: followed right after by me getting a white hawk in MGT.
Awesome; such a cool bow.
I'm up to 870 resilience and 24k hp and a rogue will still kill me within 4 seconds, should I run into one alone.
Got kicked from my guild. They turned from raid/social to pure raid over night and kicked anyone that wouldnt/didn't wanna raid. Oh well.
Pally hit 80
3 of our main healers and one of our rogues changed servers to be in an easier battlegroup (since Ruin is basically the most competitive) and guarantee themselves the Gladiator title. They say they'll be back for Ulduar (more than likely miss is it by a week or two IMO) but it leaves this week's raids in a shitty state as well as the next 4 weeks' worth unless I can find at least one other raiding priest in short order.
We were doing far too well, so here's the backlash. Just how it works.
Yeah that's pretty gay; I wish I had an 80 priest to play, that's the only class I'm interested in healing as but leveling still just takes too long.
Kegger is lol60.
Not PvP... Arenas
OK, yeah.
Heroic Maly in 5:28 tonight.
So ridiculous.
Yeah, it sounds amazing. I'd be more excited about if a) I cared or b) it didn't screw our raids.
The only tricky part there is dps on Thaddius. I mean obviously it can be done, we've done it, but we tried it once on an Immortal and it ended in heartbreak. To be fair though, I wasn't on Storm (so melee was hurting for buffs) and was instead on Opaque to get him Shocking! and I had no idea what I was doing with an spriest. So maybe that was just me going about things in an entirely fail way. So nevermind.
But one thing to always, always, ALWAYS keep in mind is that you only have to be in on the KT kill to get the title. Someone has lag issues? They don't get to dance. Can't tell left from right? Log out while we do Thaddius, please - and there's why I was on Brett's character (lag, not failing kindergarten). If someone is guaranteed to fuck up a fight, just have them log while you guys take care of it, then resume the run.
Eh, worse positions to be in. I have no doubts that it sucks right now but your tanks and healers will always be your core. DPS will fill itself in. I had incredible luck, back when we were getting Dedicated Few just because we were new and couldn't recruit more than 18 people, just being honest when telling people about the guild. "All of the pieces aren't in place yet but we have incredibly strong healers and tanks and this should be thought of as a ground floor position in a core group that WILL go places." Not everyone responded but the people who did, at least I knew they weren't just after quick purples. And they're some of my best and most loyal still.Quote:

I have no words for the DKs on your server. I lucked out and got one good DK (I thought two but one decided to "take a break" from raiding the day of the first raid AFTER we got him a black proto - well aware that he was one of two DKs and needed for that night's 6 minute Maly to get others theirs. Needless to say, gkick) but I can see how a class that populated would have a lot of morons running around in the ranks. Good luck with 'em. I've had similar bad luck with pallys and I think it's just because the love affair with "I CAN BE THIS CLASS ON THIS FACTION" is over. Sucks.Quote:

I'm back now and hopefully I'll get up to snuff, I had to relearn some stuff though but I should be putting up some somewhat respectable numbers next raid I'm in now that I switched to unholy again. Too bad there isn't a fucking enhancement shaman in the guild.
We have eravulgaris, though he's not always reliable.
In other news, on the PTR it looks like, unless they have something not yet implemented for SV, Marksmanship looks to be the most reliable DPS spec for hunters. There's some talk of making the TNT talent refresh immolation trap's DOT aspect, which would give it the DPS boost it needs to stay consistent and less bursty.
How can you be a idiotic dps dk. Thats all they are good for.I dont trust DK's tanking. My DK is strictly DPS. If i wanna tank ill hop on my Pally
There's nothing wrong with DK Tanking. It's getting nerfed because avoidance tanking is too good. People always taught people to stack Health, but my friend who was an avoidance tank with 70% avoidance as a warrior in BT was better tha most tanks, he had 629 defense and basically took 40% less damage than the average tank, without losing DPS.
Eh it's an outdated belief. Way back I had a tank in Skull that was an avoidance warrior, to the point that he would gimp prot talents to get dps talents because his avoidance was so good. The problem of course being back then if you did such a thing and got hit there was a very good chance you could be one shotted. We wound up having to guild kick the fucker cause the game was simply not designed to accommodate such a thing and he refused to abide by convention.
It just isn't like that anymore. Defense is such an all encompassing stat now that even those on Tank spot recommend stacking quite a bit further than the diminishing returns cap would dictate, and dodge is far more useful than it used to be.
Thief is right, DK tanks are completely viable man.
Also DK DPS is actually difficult, especially blood, making one mistake can cost you 200 DPS in a fight it's like a rogue's rotation where it just so extremely tight there can be little room for mistake.
It's the same thing repeated over and over again mind you (Except for when you have to keep switching up targets)
Oh I'm sure it is. If only there were some way to practice outside the game...
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA273_.jpg
Don't go past round three though.
Sorry, I should say difficult in respect to WoW DPS which sets a low bar.
A good dk tank is probably my favorite tank to roll with. Their DPS is usually still through the roof.
I might roll a DK on SH for shits and giggles. GINV?
At this point content is becoming far too laughable.
We did 20 Man Maly and Sarth 3D in a single hour. Including moving between instances.
Came heartbreakingly close to an Immortal run last night in my guild. Got all the way to KT without any deaths. Then a druid (who usually knows better) was standing too close to someone with mana bomb and got gibbed. Then later in the fight we had an absurd glitch: our only rogue got MCed and started meleeing a hunter who was OVER 30 YARDS AWAY from him, got him down to 10% before he was CCed then KT did an AoE frostbolt before he could get healed and he died.
Seriously, yeah we lost it due to a druid being careless a minute before, but even if he didn't die the fact we would've lost it anyway to glitchy server lag where the rogue was next to KT DPSing when he got MCed and somehow the server let him melee a hunter that was 30-40 yards away from that spot. Glitches ftl :\
Get used to it. You have a lot more of these gaps between content coming your way.
It's kind of sad actually. Even the shit we used to do back in the day to keep boredom at bay doesn't work anymore. I remember we used to have charity runs of 40 man raids while we waited for the content we wanted to do to come out. Usually on alts, with more than 20 people in the 40 man group being people who never got to run such things. Since there is no point to doing that kind of shit anymore, there really is nothing left to do while you wait.
Shit son, good luck.
get some pvp gear and cruise azeroth fucking up homies.
Last night a group of us fought off a horde raid to SW, it was awesome.
Does Lich King have seperate huge cities to hang out in? That's one thing I hated about BC was that everyone was together in Shattrah.
We used to have such good times going into Orgrimmar and causing havoc.
Dalaran is the new Northrend hub city, there are segregated horde/alliance areas but you can't really enter the opposing faction's space. It's much cooler than Shattrath as the entire city is floating high above the ground at the gates of Icecrown.
Well than it's still nowhere near as fun as being seperated. Fuck that shit.
So I'm leveling a priest to have an alt that can heal, looking up healing information especially for the new stuff is such a pain in the ass. But it sounds like fun at least as a priest... I don't know how paladin healing is now.
Shadow priest is super easy and fun to level as though!
Do yourself a solid and get the heirloom shoulders for easier leveling, that's what I'm doing with my priest and DK.
I already have them. I'm up to level 52, been following James wow-pro guide to leveling shit is fucking awesome average from an hour-2 hours per level right now and it goes about that long into the 60s. It'd be a while, probably after Uldaur is out for me to hit 80 though.
I'm getting the WoW itch again, but I've been out of the game for quite awhile. For all of you guys playing Lich King endgame, how does the state of the game feel right now? I know it's a fickle thing... sometime's Blizzard's content structure and balancing is a thing of brilliance, and sometimes it just feels utterly redundant and frustrating.
I haven't kept up on the game at all since this latest expansion came out, really. I guess I'm just wondering if it's still a good time to bring up new characters or if everything's gone to hell with Death Knights, 100x experience buttbuddy weekends, and what have you.
I'm assuming most of the players here are on the same (which?) server?
The ones that still play and matter are on Shattered Hand alliance. Now's a good time to jump in because there aint shit going on.
Augh I am trying to find old Talent Trees, like the original ones that came out and the original beta DK trees for the sake of interest, no one has that shit :(
