Anyway, I saw an apartment today that wasn't a shithole. The supers was nice, the place was clean, and the people who lived there weren't on welfare. Problem: It's relatively farther away from the core than I'd like (but not too far—it's closer than Etobicoke!). Also: I realize that I don't make too much money. Plus side: Monthly bonuses should offset that.
I had a phone interview on Monday for a new Animation job in Texas. It went very well, and at the end was told they would be flying me down for an on-site interview. The job is full-time salary and not contract (thank god). I've been crunching at two different studios for nearly a year and am burned out. I won't mind taking this and moving across the country again if it gives me a chance to settle down a bit and plant some roots somewhere.
You mean hand-drawn animation? If so, my gf used to do that, but got the fuck out. That shit's a rough business.
