you murder people, we get it
I had a haircut appt that got pushed back half an hour, but I arrived in Frederick early and my favorite taphouse is on the way. I pulled into the packed parking lot and someone pulled out of my favorite spot. Now I'm enjoying a fresh pint of deviant dales.
I walked around for 5 miles today. I went to Max's for lunch and had six small glasses of different sour beers. It was so bitchin.
Band practice soon.
I just got a new job, a little bit more pay with a new MacBook in the deal and a 1k Signing Bonus. It's also a Telecommute job where what you put out is more important the time you put out. I'll also be working with a good friend who I respect a lot and in an environment where I can learn a lot more. Versus the current place where my boss is the biggest Douche (Not an asshole but just a huge douche) You've met and my learning as far as I can tell from trying to read his code and the code he wants me to write, has been backwards.
And I put out all the time.
Also leaving for Pax in two hours.
Just got a call to say that my application to adopt this kitten was approved. I get to go pick her up tomorrow!

and here's a pic that was on the shelter's web site.

It is mesmerized by the double chin.
Don't you be talking bout my sister. Only I get to do that
You post it on TNL it is fair game.
Don't you be talking about what is and is not fair game.
I haven't posted in here in forever, but damn, life feels good right now. Went to PAX, had the best fucking time, and then today I had an interview with the agency that does all of 360's marketing, including the design for the original blades UI, and all of the killer Halo campaigns, and feel like I absolutely KILLED IT. If everything goes as well as it feels right now I'll be moving out to San Fran in the near future.
You and Ramon can be roommates.
"roommates"
Ramon is going because he loves dudes, I'd be going for a job. Our lifestyles just wouldn't work.
I need to see that movie again. And Guitar Wolf. I wish they would come back to Cleveland.
Nobody wants to go back to Cleveland.
I'm not in this for their wants.
I would love with BrandX.
By love, I mean live.
I wish I had 24 hours free. Get back to me in late May, I've got a couple days off then.
The tour is over in May.

I had my speedway stout tonight. It gave me an erection.
After getting my Master's and a job in the video game industry, I was looking for the next big challenge. Boy, did I find it.
Signed up for the NorCal event in Diablo Grande on September 29th. I'm stoked and can't wait to start my Tough Mudder training.
Those look pretty fun!
I have some Chico friends coming up for an anthropology conference this coming week and I went on a caffeine fueled homework session and did a frightful amount of things. Frightful. Only a few things remain. Feels good man. But now I can be a good host! And also, less to do tomorrow. Additonally, Bridgeport Kingpin is a very lovely brew.
Job interview this Friday!!! I am so excited, got to nail this and then I can give my manager the finger.
That statement has some gay overtones.
This is fucking incredible, and it's from the 1950's
I may take a solo road trip to the States. I'm thinking Chicago. I'd love to do San Fran, but I doubt I'd have the time. I am definitely taking in the Cubs and White Sox.
Thanks. I emailed my program director for advice, so he arranged a Morgan Stanley managing director and another big wig to coach me for the interview. Holy fuck, I wish I had that kind of assistance when I first graduated from college. This is amazing. My plan is to impress the MD and ask for a job at Morgan Stanley on top of everything else.
TNL is on a lucky streak it appears, gave my boss my 2 weeks and we haven't talked bout it yet but I don't care, I'm done. I don't care about setting up a VPN and shit or having someone who has no idea what he's doing basically having me learn how to do everything wrong.
TNL really is. When it rains, it pours, and TNL is getting fucking drenched in awesome.
Where's my good luck?
4 more weeks till graduation.
Associates and a Culinary degree. The Associates one was a surprise to me. Plus, three jobs lined up Marc Vetri (Philly), Revel (New Casino in AC), or The Borgata (they want me back).
what to choose ... what to choose.
Oh and the college just sent me 1,228 dollars. Love extra cash aka unspent scholarship money. All told I never should have applied for federal aid.
All of the scholarships I applied for paid for my schooling. All of it.
But it's getting late and I'm tired. :(Quote:

AMEN!
I couldn't agree with you more though, you really do make your own luck. Or, you at least put yourself into a position where you have the opportunity to get lucky, and the rest all just works out. Sometimes things work out, sometimes they don't, but I truly believe if an opportunity is meant to be, it will work out. Otherwise it wasn't in the cards and something else will come along that is really what you're looking for. At least as far as professional opportunities go.
Also, abuse the fuck out of LinkedIn. It is by far the most valuable tool anyone has in the job market these days.
My first son was born today at 11:02. He is quite healthy and I am very proud.
Congratulations on gaining a life while losing the rest of yours!
Congrats, Freek! The next couple of weeks will be some of the toughest of your life, but the first time your son smiles at you everything will be worth it.
Depends on who you ask. I only have two in house now (including Liam and my girlfriends kid) but blood relation kids this is my third, so I'm not near as scared as I was the first two times.
Congrats. But yah, you might want to consider birth control...
Lol, yeah. I'm done. For realz.
Oh damn. If I was on the third kid I'd just sell it.
How is Samba? Tones found a book for her.
That's a good question, I haven't seen her or my kids since a week before Christmas of 2010.
On to interview round 3! I didn't think I would hear back from the place I interviewed with this quickly, good or bad, apparently I was wrong!
Oh, hi.
Attachment 65395
Oh sure... like that's a big deal.
Sounds made up, imo. What are these "Emmys"?
I wish these Emmys had a phone so I could talk to the award holder.
:0 whoa yellerdog that is awesome!
Thanks guys! (I'd known about it for a while, but the actual certificate was buried under junk mail for a long time!)
This makes 3 Emmy projects I've been on. Kind of neat!
You poor soul. Next time I visit west coast we see if all 3 awards fit up my ass. <3
Congrats Yeller! Very cool.
NGEFreek: Same.
Feel good video of the day. Starts 42 seconds in.
I love it.
Emphasis on "feel good". Whenever someone springs that old "would you rather be blind or deaf" hypothetical on me, I always say I'd rather be blind. I just cannot imagine living without music.
Ever run into someone that says they don't really listen to music? I feel like I'm interacting with someone that's dead inside when that happens.
Yeah, I know a couple people like that. I don't get it.
also: You can often find those people listening exclusively to video game soundtracks. Maybe even around here!
I have a bad habit of listening to loading up YouTube and just listening to the soundtracks. I'm ashamed to admit when I was younger a lot of the games I loved a lot were the ones with memorable tunes. Okay, I'm not ashamed. I'm the same way now.
I dated a girl who didn't like music. It should go without saying that that relationship didn't last long.
The strange thing: she had more rhythm than most people I know.
Look man, you can listen to Jimi but you can't hear him. There's a difference, man. Just because you're listening to him doesn't mean you're hearing him.
+1.
I love seeing videogames, movies, being able to draw, and seeing nature more than I do listening to music. I think the world would be a pretty cold and empty place either way, but I'd pick deafness.
Video game soundtracks universally suck outside of the game. If you're listening to it for pleasure when not playing the game you're a tool and weird.
I'll listen to whatever I damn well damn. At all times.
I have 3 tracks from Streets of Rage 2 on my mp3 player. I'm a horrible philistine.
We are all toolish-tools.
