The controller had drivers installed for it, but nothing recognizes it.
Internets show that you need specific drivers to get it going on 64bit system. You guys are free to come over to my place and click the PS button a few times while all four of the lights flash if you want.
EDIT this is from the guide I used to get it to work:
Quote:
Plug in your PS3 Controller via USB:
If you haven’t done this before, you will see that some basic Windows drivers are installed. This might lead you to believe that the controller will work right away, but unfortunately it won’t. You still need to complete this step before proceeding however.
In fact this is just crap, you have to jump through a lot of hoops to get this to work and it's not very good. I'm just gonna buy a real controller like I was planning.
Sony never made drivers for it, I'm honestly surprised people even bothered mentioning the PS3 controller since it's practically the only USB pad of the last five years or so that doesn't work with a PC just by plugging it in.
Probably because Yoshi and Firstblood aren't as smart as they think they are.
That's my theory. Then again, maybe Yoshi can explain how a controller that is not plug and play somehow warrants a PEBKAC picture.
So if he said just plug it in and I say just plugging it in doesn't work (which is completely accurate), what part of that leads you to believe I did anything wrong? Two reasons you would says the problem was me: 1) you think it's supposed to be plug and play, which means you're retarded. 2) You think I said that as if I'd given up or just couldn't handle the monumental task of downloading and installing drivers, which again means you're retarded.
I got the controller working, no thanks to you two geniuses.
Yeah, I don't know why Yoshi posted that pebkac image.
It's Opaque. I was playing the odds.
