I'm wondering if ND's O could score on the Giant's D.
McNabb has long term memory problems. Rush said the same damn thing and he was fired. Now McNabb is bringing out the race card.
And to say no QB is criticized is retarded. Whether its black, white, red, brown, cancer victim, or dog rapist. If you don't win ... you get boo'ed. Facts of Life. Grow a backbone and some balls.
You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Their current roster isn't even remotely similar to 2005. On defense, they have exactly 3 opening day starters from 2005 still starting: DE/DT Bryant Young, DE/DT Marques Douglas, and ILB Derek Smith. On offense, 4: Alex Smith, who was a rookie in 2005, missed half the season with a broken leg, was 21 at the time (for comparison, he's 23 and still the youngest starting QB in the league), and hung out to dry on a terrible offense, T Jonas Jennings (who played 3 games in 2005 before going on IR), G Justin Smiley (a second year player in 2005) and WR Arnaz Battle (a third year player in 2005).
So yeah, 15 new starters is minimal changes? I guarantee the Skins had more starters from 2005 returning as opening day starters this season than the Niners did.
Really, everyone should focus on lack of rings. Here is the list of good quarterbacks starting in the NFL:
Peyton Manning
Tom Brady
Ben Roethisberger
And good QBs that are currently backups:
Brad Jonhson
Trent Dilfer
Kurt Warner
Since only rings matter, I know you'll agree with this list 100%, Yoshi.
The point of my previous post was to point out the lack of playmakers added to the 49ers roster. Vernon Davis and Nate Clements were huge pick ups for them. But aside from Gore, Battle, and Smith, this team still needs to add couple more pieces to the puzzle before the rebuilding is complete.
Although those additions were made to the 49ers roster, I still don't see them as being significant changes. Therefore, I used "minimal" to describe those changes. It was more of a quality vs. quantity scenario that formed my opinion.
Fuck I'm pissed that those teams aren't playing each other this year. That would be well worth a bet.
I don't want to bet on Detroit beating them :/.
What the hell, $10 on Kitna to take down the Redskins.
San Fran is a young team (including its Head Coach). There's no doubting that franchise is heading in the right direction. But they still need to make some more additions on both sides of the ball and allow its current players to further develop in order for them to be a real threat.
I'm in. $10 on Kitna and the Lions not beating the Redskins.
