A Golden Orb Weaver Spider, a.k.a., the Banana Spider.
Weird, eh? He's about the 3/4ths the size of my palm with his legs spread, possibly larger.

Spider looks nifty, is the web unusual? Is it poisonous? if not: You should feed it! Think of it, no more bugs around your house. I'd love a trained spider. Mosquitoes eat me alive.
The web is huge, to say the least, stretching from the eaves of my roof to the ground. The spider is not poisonous, and it attracts bees most of all (due to it's yellow coloring). It is however, deathly afraid of cockroaches due to their fast erratic movements. And they are known to be cannibalistic as well. He's handling his job quite well so far. I've had no mosquito problems around my house.
I would run screaming into the hills if I saw that irl.

I like spiders, they're one of the few bugs I don't want to see have a painfull death every time I see them.
This spider is fucking crazy it's head looks like a skull, it may or may not be evil.
I love spiders when they are not in a) my room

Finding a spider in your car while driving is probably the worst case scenario when it comes to spiders.

We get these in Florida in the woods, they make their massive human catching webs in between trees. I almost ran into one once, scared the shit out of me.
The only type of spiders I tend to see are brown recluses, so naturally, I hate them.
I'm very lucky to not have been bitten by one given how often I see them crawling around my living space.

My family's house used to be set back into the woods, and I could have these Wolf Spiders in my room all the time. Those fuckers looked awesome, except when you would find one under your bed.

Check out the husks of his dead victims. I've been checking on him every morning and he's getting bigger everyday.
He's never moved out of his window sill I've seen. I think he understands that boundries we have set with each other. He stays up there and controls the pest population and I let him be.
Check out the little spider in the upper left. He has ate a lot of spiders and I'm guessing that sucker will be food soon enough.

Also, that hand pic is exaggerated, the spider is a bit closer to the camera than it seems. They are huge, but not that huge.

Also a banana spider almost killed my dad when he was 6 and lived in Florida. Mainly it scared the crap out of him and almost caused him to fall into a very large hole.

This was mentioned in another thread, but I've found that the "show them who's boss" approach works well for keeping spiders in their place.
Just let them have their dark corners, but kill the ones that step out of their boundaries, and make sure to leave the dead bodies in plain sight for the others to take note of.

UPDATE: The spider I took pictures of originally has been killed and eaten....BY A BIGGER GOLDEN ORB SPIDER....pictures to come later.
Um...let me know if you find out why it was familiar... Yipes. Because, at least 7-10 minutes after I released it, I heard children playing outside. It's probably just waiting underneath my porch to crawl back into someone's house (mine 0_0).
