I went to the LA Autoshow yesterday. I fit in the Abarth as long as it doesn't have the sun roof! I liked it a lot. Playing with the clutch and shifter makes me appreciate my car and wonder if I could settle for something less. (Best non-premium car manual transmissions S2000, Miata, RX8).
Pics of the FRS are really blah to me. I loved it in person, other than the front bumper which is so over aggressive and silly it reminds me of an Affliction tshirt. The Subaru BRZ is boring/ugly in comparison. Even my STi owning friend wasn't impressed.
If my heart says the Abarth will be my next car, my head says don't forget the Golf R. It's more practical and more comfortable. It's also really BORING. The old R models had really nice revised bumpers and body kits on them to set them off. This one doesn't look any different than the mid-range Jetta it was sitting next to. That's not right! The transmission throws are even longer than the Abarth. It's like a full 6"-8" between 1st and 2nd. I think I would end up really hating that.
I love all Jaguars. Especially the CX-16.
Mazda had a boring show. The Miata Spyder is cool but it's just a one off. They introduced a new CUV called the CX-5 which looks kick ass if you are into that sort of thing.
Aston Martin One-77 was there. It's ugly.
I'm gonna try and get to the LA Auto Show next weekend with the wife's family. Well, the dudes in the family.
