I doubt V6s would be up your alley since you want fuel economy, but I guess a TSX could make sense with what you want. The heavier US Accord w/smaller engines wouldn't be as good of a fit. As far as inline-4s, I'm told that Altimas are pretty torquey.

I want to learn to drive manual but no one wants to show me. I dont want to deal with going to dealers and using a manual.

I wouldnt mind a v6 but I think a v4 is more than enough.

My gf has a 03 Accord. She likes the new Accord and is actually thinking of getting it but money for her is a bit tight so she'll have to wait.

Hmm... what is TNL's take on number of gears?

I went from a 4-speed automatic (Corolla) to a 5-speed manual (Miata). I definitely like the added flexibility of the additional gear, but I'm not sure if I'd be happy with an additional 6th. Is more better?

Oh also... bandit, I was taught manual once and I was terrible at it. Even when I got this Miata, the first couple days, I kept getting in trouble with stalling and whatnot. But after that, it's been smooth sailing. The only way to really learn IMO is by having a manual car.

If a car has a 6th gear, it's safe to say it has an engine that can benefit from it.

I didn't like last gen's Accord, the 6th generation Accord Coupe is still my favorite.

New Accord is really huge. Good if that's what you want, but it's not a mid size anymore.

I'm use to big..driving a minivan ('02 Odyssey) and my old tank ('84 Buick Le Sabre), the new Accord is like a Civic..ok now really.

But the Accord is a bit big especially looking for parking in NYC.

you will be parking this car in NYC? Get a mini.

Honestly there's not a lot of difference between 5- and 6-speed boxes--sixth gear for me is just a super tall cruising ratio for better mileage. My last car was a 5-speed and I wouldn't really care if my current car was too, but having a 6-speed does lend the car a bit of sporty credibility. People that drive their cars harder would for sure benefit more from a 6-speed than I do. As it is, I hardly ever use fifth gear. Or even fourth.

Mini is a rad car with the worst center console. The interior is too cute for its own good.
