You should have Biff negotiate for you, he's probably good at it. lol
Even if you plan on taking the 0% rate, I'm telling you, get your own approval for a bank loan first. They will be way less likely to dick with you.

Can anyone tell I have nothing to do today?
Mazda 3 price tracking thread, most people are getting near invoice. Edmunds says there is $500 dealer cash, and there are also special financing rates. http://www.mazda3forums.com/index.php?topic=63504.1530
G5 board. I looked for a little but couldn't find a pricing thread. All the threads about problems in the main discussion area didn't look so hot though. http://www.g5club.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=16
Decided not to get Scion. I might go for 2009 Acura TSX. I've been reading Acura forums and what people had to say and some say they hate it. Why? Not much improvement in HP and Torque compared to last models. They were hoping for more HP/Torque, SH-AWD and even diesel. Considering Acura is still part of Honda, I'm still in-line.
I wouldnt mind getting a Honda Accord either. I'll have to see what the TSX and Accord has to offer and price range.
My gf has a 03 Accord and my parents bought a 02 Odyssey. Sweet cars indeed.
My car is a 95 Ford Taurus. It still has its original muffler! My spedometer does the same thing. Not on bumps though. If I'm driving somewhere between 65-70, the spedo would go nuts bouncing back and forth between 55-85 (85 is the max on the spedo...HAHAHAAHA). Sometimes the whole 30 min drive and I wouldnt even know how fast I'm going.
Could that noise be the belt or something? Mine's been making a squeaking sound. Put belt dressing and it works a little. Could be the temperature too.
Since my mom got into a car accident with my car, the driver door has never been the same. It closes but not all the way. There is a gap. So when it rains hard, water leaks in. I put like some type of foam sticker (forgot what its called but its to patch openings on like home doors or windows) and it semi works.
Hpoefully my car can last that long so I can save enough for my new car next year. Once I do, its being handed down to my sister as her VW Golf is starting to crap out (leaking oil, window doesnt roll back up sometimes - she had to drive 5 hours upstate in the cold with window down)
So I got my car yesterday. Pontiac G5 There may be problems with it down the road, but most sound like they A: Apply to the manual version and B: are under warrenty so whatever. I'll treat the car well and hopefully it will treat me the same.
Yesterday we had about 1 foot of snow already accumulate, and it was still snowing, terrible weather on a weekday, and bitterly cold. First stop is Honda since they're the only ones who had their times posted on their website. Get in, find out about the fit, but since I want the automatic the only version I can get is the sport (so about 16k) now it's a nice car, I test drive it and it's not bad, a little loud on the highway but not a big deal, I can deal with noise.
Come back work out the financing, without interest it'd come to about 333 for 60 (Something like that). They came down like 300 dollars, but that was about 200 above dealer invoice, no big deal. However I guess my dad put it best before hand in the sense that "Honda, while good cars, is a little stuck up" because they offer 0 incentives, which you know you can't expect it all the time but every other dealer is offering incentives during the autoshow until Febraury 29th. But I like the car, it has a lot of room, a little too much flexibility because even the salesman messed up due the overall complexity of the Honda Fits seats. Still, not a huge deal. But I want to try out other cars, so next up, the Pontiac Dealer.
Head 2 feet away to the Medina Automall, and we went into the wrong part (There's two buildings, one with dodges, the other is Cadillacs and Pontiacs). Meet a guy, he seems a bit rougher around the edges than the Honda guy, we go out into the bitter cold to look at G5s. He knows little about the G5 because he does the dodge selling but hey, it's a learning experience for everyone. Eventually we test drive it, a lot quieter than the fit, also obviously more powerful, and honestly I had more fun driving it.
Come back in, work out the financing, at this time I had every intention to head to the next dealer though to try out the Mazda 3 and the lancer. Due to the bad weather, and the fact I was the first customer there (And maybe the only one for that day) the guy kinda suggests that he could get it to us at Dealer invoice. Also, my family is Welsh, this guy got a hardon for the fact that we were Welsh, because apparently he loves and has studied the Welsh and was able to figure it out just by how my dad looks.
Anyways, he goes to talk to his manager saying that we'd take it right now, for dealer invoice. At the time I'm still not sure, but if I could get it for that (Which was like 15.9 versus 16.7). While hes' away we're using our laptop to look at Edmunds to see how their invoice matches Edmun'ds as well as what deals. Well There's 1,000 cashback for Presidents day, ends February, 1,000 for the Autoshow, and 400 for the fact I graduated from college in the last 2 years.
After Tax Title and License, this car cost me 14,888. The fit was like 17,100 so that's a pretty big difference. Before interest it's like 273 (I think I can't remember) for 60 months. Yeah, I felt that was a fantastic deal and took it right then. The car is completely under my name, so when I pay this back my credit rating will be in pretty fucking good shape. The APR including the Financing fee of like 175 from my bank is 8%. That was one of the catches of the rebates that I had to use GMAC to finance it. However it didn't really matter because I'm going to pay off most the car while still leaving at home in big lump sums.
man does it take a long time to buy a car though, but in the end to have this financed in my name, no co-signer (Would have saved me 13 a month to have my dad Co-sign, not a big deal).
It is black though, which means the salt of Ohio is showing up 100% on it :(.
As soon as I find my camera cable I'll upload pictures.
Congrats. I cant wait to buy my car in 2009. But I think I'll look into 2010 models since by the time I buy the car in the Spring/Summer, 2010 models will be at the dealers.
Curious as to why buy in the winter? The weather salt alone isnt good for the car.
Well I needed to buy a new car, mine doesn't cut it and there were a shit tone of deals going on for the end of February. See KoF's quoting of my car troubles.
Congrats Thief. Nothing like a new car smell. Don't forget to put a few coats of Zaino on it :)
That stuff actaully any good or just a joke :P
Also I hate having a new car :( I keep fearing that something bad is gonna happen to it.
Nuuuu I want my car to be perfecttttttt alwaaaayyyyssss. Also I can't wait for 5 o'clock so I can drive it again. And hopefully not have piss poor traffic.
