by "properly" uninstalling you mean thru the add/remove applet? if so then it HAS to send info to the company. there's no other way for them to know if reformatting or deleting leaves "traces".


i have another tiny complaint (although its more humorous than anything). limbs do the devon dudly wiggle sometimes. i was watching my bro play and on more than one occasion the ragdoll wouldn't stop and the bodies would keep waving their hands after being dead and feet would continuously twitch. like i said, funny more than anything but i notice this happens in ANY game with ragdoll type stuff.

I wonder if I'm alone in wanting to pirate a game instead of buying it when they pull shit like this? That won't happen here (and I'll probably end up with the 360 version anyways), but idiotic anti-piracy is why I never bought a Trackmania game until United.

As is my friend wasn't too happy anyway since Bioshock has to connect with their servers to validate and yesterday being release day and all meant it took him like an hour to get through. GG

i was only saying that because a lot of people do the "big brother" argument anytime system info is sent off to be collected.

anyway, why would they patch that out of steam? then the two securities would be different. im sure that would cause piss between the publisher and steam. i would imagine they would want all parts equal.

Yeah, I agree about the point of wanting to pirate a game when they ruin the legitimate experience with shit like that.

I figure, you show the publisher that they don't need shit like that for the steam version to protect it, so that all the publishers will rely on Steam as a form of security, as a way to gain more support under their wing.

normally this stuff isnt too much of a hassle and people like to bitch for the sake of bitching. which is what i think it is in a case like this. i mean you get 2 complete installs (or basically unlimited if you remove it correctly) the whole thing isn't too much of a problem. the only thing i don't like is when shit like this nukes systems or otherwise wrecks havok.
