I'm pretty split on the cost of VC titles. Obviously the cost to Nintendo is next to nothing, and since these are old products there's hardly any (if any at all) R&D dollars to make back. They could very well give the shit away and make a profit on the extra Wii demand such a feature would give the system. Not that they need any more demand at the moment.

But I understand that Nintendo's back catalog still has value to them, like a back catalog of music--you give it away (or sell it for nothing) and you devalue your product.

I think $5 is a totally fair price, $10 is on the steep side. I don't like that they charge more for import games--that's unnecessary. But in the end, I don't have a problem spending $5-10 to play a game I either loved as a kid or missed because I didn't own the system or have $60-80 when I was younger.

I have not and will not buy a single VC game that I can play legally another way. I no longer own a single cartridge video game, and I have not bought a VC game available on a disc-based console compilation.

Did you run out of space for cartridges or something?

Personally, I don't touch Wii VC if I can get a cartridge (or a compilation on another system or, failing both of those, an XBLA port) for anywhere near the same price. I bought Sin and Punishment because I do not plan on owning the worst mainstream system ever. I also bought Soldier Blade and Blazing Lazers because the HuCard prices are stupidly high.

Cartridges are too big and clumsy, and I don't want to have 20 systems hooked up, especially since getting RGB for all the old consoles is expensive. The VC upconverts for you without lag.

Lords of Thunder is the motherfuckin' jam. It also has one of the best video game soundtracks around. Hopefully the audio quality made it over to the Virtual Console release.

They added a second of invulnerability when you get hit in the sega CD version. Made the game much easier. I have both versions, but preferred the easier (yet worse looking) Sega CD version.

Dark Ass Hole is after a distant land’s powerful crystal methamphetamine, but a young fairy named Ribbon attempts to save it by escaping with the cough medicine, amonia, and coffee carafes to Dream Land. Now the crystal meth has been scattered around various trailer parks around the nation. Take control of Kirby and help him journey across six states, battling a wide variety of enemies and challenging bosses, as he tries to collect all 100 various substances in tiny baggies. Along the way, you’ll use Kirby’s trademark copying ability to use enemies’ strengths against them. Not only that, but try combining any two abilities to create a brand-new one that is usually stronger than the original. Psychosis: (TurboGrafx16, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone – Mild Fantasy Violence, 600 Wii Points): This is a side-scrolling shooter played in a world created from the mind of a twisted demon. Surprise! It's TG16, what were you expecting? Certainly not another fucking side-scrolling shooter! Your soul has suddenly wandered into that evil world that exists in every person’s heart. The only way out is to blast your way past the grotesque creatures that block your path in five “causes” (stages). You must face the dangers of this psychedelic world by making full use of three shot types and the satellite option. With power-ups, you can change your shots to a wide-coverage beam, a satellite-generated laser and more. Each shot type can be powered up to three levels. You can also block enemy fire by rotating the satellites to a desired position. How you use these features will be the key to successfully escaping this strange and surreal world.

Shit, you're right. Infernal Machine was the one I meant. I've rarely seen it anywhere, and when I finally found a used copy at Play 'N Trade, it was of course a week after I sold off my N64. :(

I don't want to go through the hassle of getting it to work on my PC, so this would have worked fine for me.

Actally, Infernal Machine was not rental only. You could order it straight from LucasArts, which I did before making a profit and keeping the PC version.

It's pretty ridiculous to add a dollar to the price, but it's also pretty ridiculous to say that DoReMi Fantasy isn't worth $9. You should get it anyway.

Totally. I never gave it one bit of consideration back when it came out, and it's a shame. Simplistic graphics with minimal blurry textures works pretty damn well on N64, and the game's a good bit of fun.

We've gotten other imports, remember everyone said Sin and Punishment would never be released here on the VC.

If Drac X gets released it will be the second VC game I buy.

I'm getting more and more pissed off about the trickle of releases. If they are going to milk us to death they should at least release 3 to 5 game for each console a week. At this rate we will never see half of the games for these systems.
