Legend of Kage 2
Link at Magic Box
Taito is bringing Legend of Kage 2 out in Japan for the Nintendo DS. This one has 2 characters- Shadow, who uses the classic sword and shuriken- and Chihiro, carrying a chain-sickle as her weapon.
LoK 2 will have 12 stages and "multiplex" (several layer parallax?) scrolling.
So far, it looks good.

I love LoK, one of my favorite arcade games in the 80s. This one looks interesting, except that old dude with 3 brains (like an inverted wedding cake, wtf).

Hydrocephaly is a hell of a disease.
Legend of Kage is a great game. Ahead of its time, too. I think that was the first raster-based platform game to scroll in all directions and follow the player like that. Like a year before Mario came out, too.

Ohh hells yes. This needs to come out in the US, I was a HUGE LoK fan back in the day.
-
I also liked this game a lot back when I was younger. Surprised me so many people liked it since I always thought I was the only one!
-
Alot of tiling in the backgrounds, otherwise it looks like a straight up action game with no touch screen crap. Count me in. *-neo

Another numbered entry in a classic series on the DS.

Awesome, this is exactly the kind of game I want to see on DS. Demon Sword is still LoK2 to me, though despite the name.

I can't wait for this one. I remember never getting very far but loving it, literally just jumping around in the trees on the first level forever killing ninjas. Good times. When I first started working here and someone traded in the original I figured it was rare so I called JC for a price, and he's like "it's nothin, $2.99."
"But I loved this game, it was awesome!"
"That doesn't mean it's not worthless."

I thought Demon Sword was already Legend of Kage 2.
{edit} NeoZeedeater beat me to it, as it should be.
