Suck my spoilers bitch.
they better sink some money into sfx. i don't think i can go another season seeing little "tastes" of powers because of budget constraints.
I'm sure the budget got bigger the second they got greenlit for a second season.
nathan and peter are both alive lmao
How is nathan alive?
Maybe Nathan dropped Peter in midair and flew away before he blew up.
Nathans dead, peter is gonna whine about it and turn emo just like he did season 1, and Hiro will randomly go to when they tried to save the chearleader to say hi to nathan for LULz so thats why hes credited in the season.
oh snap whats the spoiler tag again?!
Hey what happened to the rousing Dominican Republic history conversation?!
Anyway, the new season will be good. I'm more interested in seeing who this new badguy will be. Hopefully he won't make Sylar his bitch. Not that having Sylar as a lacky wouldn't be beneficial, but I'd hate to see that cool character neutered. Maybe having some kind of evil-doer in-fighting would be great.
I still need to watch the entire first season. Because I have yet to watch a whole episode.
It's the most overrated show on television
Quote:
NBC has released a description of "Lizards," the Oct. 1 episode of Heroes.
Here's how the network describes the episode:
"With one person dead, Matt (Greg Grunberg) enlists some unlikely help as the attacks continue on people with abilities. Claire's (Hayden Panettiere) efforts to hide her healing abilities at her new California high school are jeopardized by a fellow student with a secret of his own. Niki (Ali Larter) and Micah (Noah Gray-Cabey) leave Las Vegas in an attempt to start over. As part of his new job, Dr. Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy) must track down The Haitian (guest star Jimmy Jean-Louis).
"While crossing into Mexico, Maya (Dania Ramirez) and Alejandro's (Shalim Ortiz) abilities prove to be a threat to those around them. Meanwhile, disappointed by his hero Kensei (David Anders), Hiro (Masi Oka) resolves to rectify any damage his presence in feudal Japan has done to history. And another lost Hero falls in with a gang of Irish gangsters with clues to his past."
a gang of irish gangsters?
so he goes to feudal japan and teleports back? here i thought he'd be stuck there most of the season.
irish gangsters? Wow now I don't need to watch the episode
Black Donnellys imo.
I'm blasting through Season 1 in anticipation. Hopefully NBC doled out some VFX cash.
Ehh maybe. It's good. Not the best evar like most people say it is. A dumb kind of fun IMO.
It's a spectacular idea, I just haven't watched it to see how well executed the main plot was.
But Sylar was one really good evil villian.
Not really in the spoiler realm since its NBC generalized TV guide description for the episode, but Ill toss tags on it anyway since its for the second episode:
Here's how NBC describes "Kindred," which is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 8:
"Upon his return to New York, Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy) is unnerved to find an undiscovered Issac Mendez painting that foretells death of someone close to him. Both Claire (Hayden Panettiere) and H.R.G. (Jack Coleman) pursue their own secret personal agendas. Determined to make it to the U.S., Maya (Dania Ramirez) uses her deadly abilities to free Alejandro (Shalim Ortiz) from a Mexican jail. Ando (James Kyson Lee) returns to his job in Japan and makes a happy discovery.
"Meanwhile, in Japan's past, just when Hiro (Masi Oka) had written off Kensei (David Anders), his childhood hero surprises him. Niki (Ali Larter) and Micah (Noah Gray-Cabey) leave Las Vegas in an attempt to start over. Later, Niki and a lost Hero individually strike shady bargains to reach their goals. Two familiar people with abilities make an unexpected return."
I just read the TV Guide article about this season, and I kinda wish I hadn't. It basically gives all the details about the premiere.
Look at your own risk.
Takei gets murdered
Peter is alive in Ireland with amnesia
Nathan is a drunk
Claire and her family live in Cali
Kristen Bell is a psycho operative for the Company
And so on and so on.
Hurray its back! Good ep IMO.
interesting, interesting. i wish they hadnt gone the amnesia route with Peter, i wanted something more interesting, held without choice similar to how sylar was. Kensei being english, eh, i feel like Hiro is being used as the comedic relief. Claires new airhead guy friend isnt working with me, theres something about his look that doesnt feel right. I love how Molly is being taken care by Mohinder and the Cop (its been so long i forgot names).
I have yet to watch a single episode.
No interest at all. And when i did get a little interest, a friend of mine told me:
"if you've read a comic book, than it does nothing new". and looking at some of the plot points...it really doesnt. Every single one of those plots has been done in a comic book before. No need to watch the show.
JBNagis
for that sake stop reading books, watching tv, watching movies, playing story driven video games.
EVERY story has been done, every one, there is absolutely no such thing as an original story, its just how the director, man in charge, the author can give it a new life and get you interested.
i'm glad we didn't see Ali Landrys character or Micah at all. we need more episodes like this. other than that, boo to the amnesia and i have a feeling Hiro will end up taking the place of the Englishman and making history himself.
I know you meant Ali Larter Dyne. Ali Landry is/was the hot Dorito's chick. I thought the episode was pretty good for a start to the new season. What I really liked was that there was a total of two commercials throughout the whole episode. 20-25 minutes of continuous show is great.
And the weekly blue-balling begins anew.
The japanese from that white guy who played kensei made my ears bleed.
Also the cheerleaders new friend is Peter Pan?
The answer as to who killed Takai was posted on SHH (main page) ... months ago ....
Do Not Mouseover, if you don't wanna know.
Sylar. The actor who played Sylar said that in the first episode he kills someone. This was said in an interview on ET, when they were talking to him about the new Star Trek movie.
Also, I thought it was neat-o. The Columbian storyline sucks though. I kept flipping away(Picture in Picture my TV doesn't have it, but the cable box Comcast provides has the ability if you hook it up right. Thanks Comcast!) and watched the Halo parties. I bet Hiro, becomes the hero he read about. And then when he goes back to the present he's more kick ass and non-emotional, since his pops died and now he's a kick ass warrior.
I wanna know how Nathan survived. Peter we basically knew ... He can heal. But Nathan ... hmmm.
I like how HRG and Suresh are now like a secret operative team (read: X-Force).
yeah the Hiro idea is exactly what i think as well (and posted above).
how is it Sylar that killed Sulu? isn't Sylar in some retarded dream world right now?
i noticed the Columbian chicks power makes the persons eyes ooze in a very "crying Mary" type of way. can't wait to see how exactly she does it. probably blanks out like Ali's character does.
Just because they wear a hooded sweatshirt doesn't mean it's Sylar. Sounds like a fake spoiler to me. Sulu recognized Sylar when he approached. Sulu also said one of the 9 or 12 original generation guys was gunning for the others. Sylar is clearly not that older generation.
Anyway, how would Sylar get the picture of Mrs. Petrelli and Sulu? And why would he outright kill Sulu instead of taking his ability? Doesn't make sense.
yeah thats why i didn't really believe it. then again, you never know. maybe it was some alternate crazy hiro.
didn;t they say in the previews that two people come "back from the dead" or somesuch?
They're Domincan.
I hope nate keeps his ron burgundy depression beard for the whole season
She doesn't do it. It happens automatically. Her special ability is always on -- it's a plague that kills everyone around here. The only reason the disease doesn't kill everyone is because her brother's power is to neutralize it. That's why he kept shouting YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING! to the mexican hombre's who wanted to rape her.
It was in a comic the secretary at my work showed me (she loves this show hardcore, she's really cute too which is an odd combo).
It could be that the really evil guy the little girl is having dreams about IS one of the original 9 that he mentioned. Remember how Sylar's corpse was dragged in to the sewer after the altercation? Yeah, I'm willing to bet this guy is using Sylar to do his dirty work.
Aren't you a dirty ass italian? That makes sense if so.
Neat I did not know this.
Good take on what I reported on earlier. Cause Port was right, but now with what you said ... it could be. I mean Takai was in shock that Sylar was back. Since he said "You!"
Dyne got pwned! LOL!
That sounds completely plausable. Only thing is in the season finale, wouldn't Molly Walker know that super evil season 2 man was right below them esp. considering how much this dude is/was tormenting her?
I think you guys may be right or near to it. Part of the mystery of this season is what happened between this first episode and the last one (the whole 4 months ago thing).
The real question this season is: How does HRG afford that new house when he works at a fucking Kinko's?
Looked like a small apartment to me... but then again, a small apartment in southern CA = a decent house in TX. :P
Matt's diamond stash, imo.
What I want to know is, did the entire tri-state area and US government not see a huge nuclear explosion directly above NYC? You'd think that the entire Western world would be on some sort of military lock down, and the US running even more so rampant through the third world on some "kill the terrorists" bit.
That's the biggest gripe as far as plot holes are concerned. I can usually shrug them off, but this one is just too big. Unless that is taking place, and we have yet to see it, since the first ep was rather limited in scope.
I'll take the limited scope ideal.
Well, that was one way to write Candice out of the show. :( It played to the internet rumors though, which is cool. But there was no reason to get rid of the hot redhead so freakin' early, especially because they had a perfectly plausible explanation for why Candice didn't look like Missy Peregrym any more.
It was an ok episode, but not as good as last week, and the whole Candice situation reeks of some bad WWE storyline wrapup after someone suddenly got injured or quit the company.
I remember a thread about you saying how you greased your hair and we made some italian jokes about it then.
Well a lot of this season has to do with the people behind the entire "let New York get nuked" plotline of season 1. And Molly's power isn't active unless she concentrates. It seems like the big theme this year is "generations". Matt taking care of Molly, the brother and sister on the run. Not to mention Hiro back in ancient times and HRG-Claire being in every episode so far, bar none.
Tonight's episode was pretty awesome. I'm really enjoying Peter rediscovering his powers in Ireland. Hiro's story is pretty great too. I also like the fact that when a main character is foretold to die in an episode coming up that it's entirely plausible that they actually might die.
No. HRG is a character based upon extreme secrecy and preparation for, what we can assume, is the greater good of his family. Based on these known character traits it's not hard to assume that he has cash stowed away somewhere to cover the cost of his families needs.
These details don't matter and are pointless to scrutinize.
Actually Sylar killing Candice / Michelle (which is the name of a WWE diva, oddly enough) was REALLY good for his character. He's immediately reintroduced as a psychotic SOB. He kills people and steals their power. Sylar is my favorite character of the series so far. Changing him to a team player right now would pussify him. Keep him bad ass for awhile longer IMO (he'll either die or become a pussy further on I'm guessing. They always do that with awesome characters on TV).
The real Candice being a fatty was hilarious.
I dunno, so far season 2 less then exicting. And way to skip on epic battle with Angry Ronin. lol This show seriously hurting being on TV budget.
Syler is on the Lost island lol
I still dont understand what the deal is with the White Drunkard British Samurai Legend who Hiro is helping. Did the well of decent Japanese actors to take the role of a Japanese samurai just dry up or did the shows writers really intend originally for the role to be played by a white man?
Are you fucking serious? The whole IDEA of Kensei was that he was a Japanese Hero. For Hiro to go back in time and find out that he was a idiot is one thing, it's even more of a shock that he's a foreigner.
Exactly, so why the fuck isnt he japanese? You would think the japanese people would know a foreigner when they see one.Or was this just done from a writing perspective as omgshockfactOr? Because otherwise a British coward walking amongst the japanese people wearing full samurai gear is pretty dumb.
Unless, and this is the only way it would be cool,
Is if the simple fact that he looks like he doesnt belong is because he really doesnt.Aka, he's a time traveling/self healing mutant who killed Kensei, and is placing himself there in that role and time period for other reasons.
Holy shit. Just HOLY SHIT.
The idea that Hiro had NO idea that his childhood was a foreigner is part of the omgshock. Sure they could have had a Japanese guy by Kensei and he could have been exactly how he was supposed to be. Instead Hiro goes back, finds out he's white and NOT at all what the stories said, thus Hiro has to become him/help him become what the legends say.
I really can't understand why this is so hard for you to figure out.
Don't let it get to you Chux, Jet's just a little thick. ;)
I would laugh if Superman would sue Heroes for fligh scene infringement from last night.
I only caught the last 15 minutes but from what you guys are saying, I didn't miss much at all. Well, they figured out how essentially write Sylar out for half the season without it being, ahem, too far fetched. Bennett being tagged for death by painting was a reverse surprise.
Future spoiler: Ned Ryerson is one of the Petrelli - Linderman - Sulu original 9 (or 12) crew. Interesting! Guess he was the cash cow for all of them.
Fuck this show, even the most horrible of television shows dont resort to an amnesia plotline until the later seasons. Fuck, Full House didnt use one until the series finale. This show only lasted 23 episodes before going to it. Good job talentless hack writers
Yeah Jetman has been know to be thick and post news that was previously reported like two to three pages back.
I usually just let the case drop, when it comes to a Jetman question.
Also, I like the buildup better in Season Two than season one. I can see what they said in an interview that This season will have two arcs and they will be resolved quickly.
fag,
A lot of people dismiss the show as feminine just because of its content but the show has some very talented writers and is genuinely entertaining if given the chance.
I'm man enough to admit it, but it seems your homosexual insecurities get you to throw derogatory terms at me for it. That's cute.
Wait, what? What news did I post that had anything to do with the topic I mentioned? The question I asked
Is probably the kind of question thats only going to be answered on a DVD commentary, but figured a few of you may have heard something I didnt. I know the actor who is playing the role of Kensei was in a few other sitcoms/ network shows (Alias and House, I think) and I wondered if they choosed him for the role because he was a safe actor or they really had planned out for Kensei to be British. Maybe they meant for him to be foreign for the omg factor. Cool. whatever.Thats what I asked.Noone here knows so an " I dont know dude" would have sufficed not OMFG YOU FUCKING IDIOTSHIT. Get off my nuts pls.Quote:
did the shows writers really intend originally for the role to be played by a white man?
Maybe you should just stfu, Andrew. Noone cares or has ever cared about your opinion or your unfunny sarcastic remarks here or in any thread on TNL.Ive seen you stir up shit and play devils advocate for no reason in more than a few threads around here.Quote:

I have been nothing but a model contributer here on TNL during my four year tenure. My additions to these forums are always topical, insightful and polite. The only thing greater to me than the quality of my work is the kindness found in the words of those posts. If I maybe do have a flaw, and that's a really huge maybe, it's that I perhaps care too much -- about the feelings of those surrounding me in threads and about the topic of discussion at hand in the thread I've chosen to participate.
Yet your boorish hijinks know no bounds. I offer to you a heartfelt suggestion in the hopes that you would find rest and ease with an easier show to follow and what is it that you relay back to me? Nothing but casual usage of cuss words and attempts on my high moral standing. This is nothing short of character assassination on your behalf and I have half a mind to report your post under those grounds. So heinous is your act here today that I'm almost wondering if you have confused me with one of TNLs more notorious riff-raff and trouble makers such as NeoZeedEater, haohmaru, or the dastardly cka. If it was a deliberate attempt on my scruples this act of unmitigated gall has really opened my eyes to the true nature of Jetman. Consider yourself removed from my TNL friends list -- a list I never thought I'd see the day you'd be taken off of.
Actually Desperate Housewives is a pretty good show. However, there's no denying that the attention span required to follow a show like Housewives is considerably less than that of Heroes. With less characters and epic stories being undertaken on a week-to-week basis the show spends more time talking things out in a slower pace.
Also, LOL pussy.
How can you possibly be saying that Heroes is harder to follow than Desperate Housewives? If anything, they are both at the same level of complexity. That being they are made for simple minds. They both have linear stories and the same level of shock and surprise to them.
If Heroes is your pinnacle of television depth and story, I bet your book collection only contains books with pictures in them.
One is a show with a comic book backdrop. The other is a soap opera.
also: I was joking, but I found it cute that you decided to respond.
Andrew's Canadian. He doesn't mean bad, you just have to overlook his attitude as a cultural difference.
Heroes isn't doing anything for me this season. I still like HRG but there hasn't been any real character development in anyone from what we got last season. Fatty Candice was funny.
Season 2 of DH sucked so I stopped watching it. Started well though.
I think it's just because the first two so far have been intro episodes to set up the plot for the season. The first couple eps in season 1 weren't great either.
Sso far I don't like Peter's new arc. Black Donnelly's didn't cut it as it's own show so they folded it into Heroes I guess. Claire's love interest sucks too. I'm sick of that girl in general. The first season had it's own shitty arcs, so nothing new there either.
That's my take on the first episodes, although I do like the Peter story arch so far, though I wish amnesia could have been left out of it somehow. I also like Hiro's story with the gaijin samurai. I stopped watching the first season of Heroes for the explicit reason that the first two episodes I watched (of the series) were lame. The secretary at my work convinced me to check it out and I'm glad I did.
This season will be no exception... I hope.
So Heroes now can be renamed: Minorities with Super Powers?
Didn't expect: Matt's father being one of the older generation.
Did expect: Once we knew that Matt's dad was important, that he was the boogeyman. Molly Walker finding him and getting mindnapped when she tried to find Papa Parkman.
And no surprise at Mr. Petrelli's face being blurred. Money is on him still being alive and being the generation killer. And could Sylar hurry up and kill Los Mexicanos quickly. They are annoying the hell out of me.
Good episode. Finally some payoff in sight for the Molly-Matt-Suresh storyline. OH SNAPES family in New Orleans was amusing.
The whole time I was thinking, C'mon sylar, kill off this fucking worthless plot device.
That guy was in The Office as Jan's young assistant.
Sylar is, by far, my favorite character on the show. When Candice was left alone with him on the beach I couldn't help but smile at the fact that I knew she was about to die. That latina is smoking hot though.
Shit was that him? The manager at the burger joint is Chuck's manager at Buy More.
Black people use superpowers to steal cable.
God, 80% of tonights episode was worthless.
LOL I loved the As Seen On TV girl doing the wrestling move because you could see it coming a mile away. And oh god the flying boy's line when he caught Claire. So far this season's really sucking. We didn't even get any Hiro or Peter this episode.
One thing got me thinking. If Claire heals up after every injury, wouldnt it make her a virgin every time? :p
Us nerds covered that way back when her power was first revealed. :p
damn it, late to the nerd party i guess
You can be proud of that.
The 619 was fucking awesome. You guys are too jaded.
http://moshiko654wwe.goop.co.il/Goop...STERIO-619.jpg
This season is horse shit compared to the first.
The 619 was ok.
