Thinking of coming to Chicago for a few days to do Chicago type things. What is there to do thats worth doing?
Not getting robbed by black people? Besides that I got nuthin.
Field museum and the cemetaries right by it are the only real answers.'
Also: Chicago Blues bars.

art district, bunch of museums, there is also a good technology and science museum outside of downtown

shopping on the magnificent mile
and pineapple is right, stay off the subway late at night and south of downtown watch out
South of downtown is ok, it's south of Chinatown that's sketchy. Chicago's Chinatown is tiny, but really good food.
If you want an easy arcade to get to, take the Red Line to Belmont: arcade right there at the stop.
Chicago's museums are great IMO. Adler Planetarium though, eh, not worth the money if you ask me.
The Lego Store and the Apple Store are decent stops on the mag mile, but that's about it unless you really like high fashion.
Check out scenic Gary, Indiana, a short ride south of the city.
I hear Cary's Lounge is pretty cool.
Shedd Aquarium is a personal fave.
Call up mzo or the Gooch. Nick still lives around Chicago as well I think. I'm not sure who else does.
