No, it was just a yellow onion. If I were at home that's what I would use.
I made Chicken with Garlic and Shallots last night with a pretty kickass rissotto. They're probably two of my favorite things to cook, which I'll post the how to... later.

Word. I can make it to Savannah any day of the week.
GUINNESS FRIES
I revised the recipe to send to Advocate so I'm re-posting
1 or 2 russett burbank potatoes
Distilled white vinegar
1 can Guinness Draught
Lawry's Season salt
Brown Rice Flour (find this at all natural hippie food store)
Crystal Shortening (vegetable oil)
In a mixing bowl pour in the whole can of Guinness and 1/3 cup of vinegar. Season with Lawry's. Add cut fries and put in fridge for 30 min to 1 hour. The longer, the more flavorful. Strain off marinade into another lg mixing bowl. While stirring, add brown rice flour until the mixture becomes creamy (enough to coat your finger (still it will look grainy). Season mixture with a bit more lawry's. Toss fries in mixture until evenly coated. Preheat fryer to 375. Slowly drop coated fries in the oil. Cook for about 4 min or until floating. The batter may not stay on the fries, but when you bite into them the crunch will be undeniable.
HELL YEAH!!! You rock!
reading back i left out some obvious parts but you get the picture.
Hubb, do you have a good sweet potato fry recipe?
Hey guys, bump again!
Here's a super quick and easy way to eat pasta. Boil some farfalle. While it's cooking, mince up about one small clove of garlic per serving. sliver a few large leaves of fresh basil per person if you have it. Drain the pasta, add 3/4 tablespoon butter per person, stir in the garlic and basil, add a dash of lemon, and toss.
Sounds fucking delicious. Basil is my favorite herb. Well besides.....
btw sry I didn't reply about the sweet taters. That's a recipe i'm still working on. They are a bitch to get right.
