God, you should see some of the names I have to deal with on my attendance sheets. Here are just a few, and yes, they are indeed real names:

- Jaeshkamali [jai-esh-ka-ma-lee]
- Nemesis
- Genesis (I kind of like this one :p )
- Gamariel (his dad's name is Gabriel and his mom's is Mariel)

I had a kid named Ivan Vera in my 9th grade group, and his brother (a senior) was also named Ivan. Guess what their dad's name was? Yep, Ivan. :rolleyes:

I had another student who had an identical twin. He was named Carlos Robert and his brother Carlos Alex.


People do some stupid shit when naming their kids.

When I was subletting my apartment in college I had a girl named Guzzle call about renting it.

If you get offended by what other people say you can't live in a free nation, because if someone's racist they're allowed to be openly racist. If you get offended by white people using the word nigger but not black people you're technically being racist. The word is available to everyone or it isn't. I prefer the available avenue, because it corrodes any sort of offending power people have with it. Or should.

If someone wanted to call me a lazy potato eating drunk I wouldn't get offended. I don't care who this person is. Not even enough to get angry with them. They can't make me angry, they don't have that power over me.

First you took my post way out of context.

Anyway, no one was even talking about calling anyone racist matter of fact, what the hell are you talking about? Who said anything about a damn word?

And the word nigger has historical refrence where as potato eating drunk has none. There is a huge fucking difference.

LOL. It's the EXACT same fucking thing. Just because someone didn't make a nice neat little word for jerks to throw at my people doesn't change that fact.

Prior to the 60's you'd often see a no negro's, no irish sign outside most establishments. You aren't the only people who had to fight for their independence. The difference is we're not babies about it and got over it. Holding on to it does nothing but bog a segment of people down and stop them from assimilating. We assimilated in to American and Canadian cultures and bettered it and it bettered us. I don't go around calling myself Irish-Canadian. I'm Canadian, period. That doesn't mean you have to stop cooking your food or stop being who you are.

Err I dont remember the Irish being slaves to anyone in the USA, and basically culturally back in the 60+, the closer to white you were the better. And I'm sure for most racist, as long as you dont tell them your name etc, your more accepted or not shunned upon where as someone plainly black would be. The Irish also didn't get their culture stripped from them either. Big difference in alot of things actually, too much to list.
