You were 7 years old in 1985, how well do you remember the Laker's showtime?
Yeah, LeBron is badass, but he has a long way to go, to even be close to the player Johnson was. Johnson was pulling off those tight inside passes to Kareem, long before you quit shitting your diapers.
Nor is it intended to change anything. What it does is put the accomplishment in proper perspective. Taking the same path, the "we'll win just because we play harder than you" Chicago Bulls - a team with no all-star, no point guard, and no power forward - were supposed to be in the Finals. I'd say Kobe taking Phoenix to 7 games with that laughable roster from a year ago was far more impressive. Smush Parker a starter? Chris Mihm out with an injury being a big loss? Lamar Odom last year (sheepish #2 Lamar) versus Gooden and Hughes is a wash. But I will say that if LeBron takes the Cavs to the Finals this year, it will be a bigger accomplishment, because he has an even shittier team and a tougher road.
With all that said, I'm taking the Cavs over the Celtics in 7. LeBron may not be a complete finisher at this moment, but he's not a devout coward either who talks big then disappears in the 4th quarters, deferring to guys like Rondo and Perkins. Yeah, I went there. No rings between the three of them for damn good reason.
Spurs are down 2 games and I am crying are you guys happy now! arghh ! :(
Speaking of Magic, the Orlando Magic got fucking jobbed last night on that foul call on the out of bounds play late in the game and the 3-pointer that shouldn't have counted at the end of the 3rd quarter.
Also:
Mike D'Antoni (reportedly) has been hired to fill the Bulls' coaching vacancy.
Lebron went and got himself a theme song.
Go CAVS!
Wally can't piss in the ocean right now.
This is the best Danny Ferry could build around LeBron? Great geezus, the only thing he could do worse with what's on the court right now is to swap Zydrunas with Kendrick Perkins.
Rajon Rondo thinks he's Chris Paul.
