A Jordan 25ppg year was a dissapointment. And when did Lebron average 8apg, exactly?

Vet wasn't selling him short, and certainly wasn't calling him run-of-the-mill. LeBron James is dope as hell, but let's hold off on the Jordan comparisons for now, yes?

Jordan at comparable ages:

84-85 28.2 PPG 6.5 RPG 5.9 APG
85-86* 22.7 PPG 3.6 RPG 2.9 APG
86-87 37.1 PPG 5.2 RPG 4.6 APG
87-88 35.0 PPG 5.5 RPG 5.9 APG
88-89 32.5 PPG 8.0 RPG 8.0 APG

*- 85-86 was an injury shortened season (broken ankle) and MJ played in only 18 games, starting 7 of them. 88-89 was the year Michael Jordan was moved to the PG for much of the season, putting him in a simliar playmaker role as LeBron, consequently, similar numbers.

The point is, however, is that you want to start seeing the RPG and APG drop because that hopefully tells you others are on the team picking up the slack in those areas so that the main guy can focus on what he needs to: dominating and taking over games. Much like how Chris Paul's RPG numbers have noticably dropped since his rookie year - Paul is still a terrific rebounder, especially for a little man, but now he can let Tyson get the boards so he can take off on the break earlier.

Well, that's mostly b/c of age. But leaving that aside, I'd take LBJ over Kobe 7 days a week.

Well, that really depends. If they're looking to run a stiff offense from the top all the time, shoot a poor percentage, and finish no higher than 4th in the East, then you're right.
