awesome! thanks!
OMW!
Damn guess they don't like my 7600 GT 256 :( I don't meet the reqs apparently.
Boo urns.
I'm in.
I"ve had the beta for a while now. beta runs pretty good on my system. I'll upgrade 2 weeks before game is out. Sp demo should be out by then.
AA x 4 ( Not sure if it actually worked in game everywhere though.
Settings = high
Resolution @ = 1680 x 1050
Dx 9
Getting around 25 - 30 FPS average outdoors, 30 - 40 indoors. Even in DX9, the game still looks great...
My system.
Videocard: EVGA 8800 GTS 640 OC (600/900)
Processor: Core 2 Duo e4300 @ 2.57 GHZ
Mainboard: ABIT AW9D 975X 775
Memory: 2gig (4x512) DDR2 800
Soundcard: ABIT AudioMAX
PSU: SUNBEAM SLI 550wattz
why do all pc games have lines across the screen when i look left to right fast...its really bad in crysis.
Screen tearing, you mean? Turn on vsync and it'll go away, but it's a resource hog.
Hell, OC that 4300 a little further. Those suckers can go up to like 3.6Ghz pretty easily.
Yeah, but you can take a 6850 to 3.6Ghz with pretty much any after market heatsink and then you'd be running at 1333fsb instead of 1066fsb.
That's a pretty sizable difference; especially when you figure in how there's people out there that have clocked 6850's to over 4.3Ghz using nothing but air to cool. That's just fucking crazy.
I threw everything on high and it sorta chugged. The main problem was ZOMGTEXTURES NOT SHOWING UP.
Well I"m waiting on the SP demo before I do any upgrades for the game.
As far as OC the 4300 more, I havent had the need to do so with all the current games out right now, and it performed well on the Crysis beta.
Yea the left some of the high rez textures out of the beta. Which is why the high setting really isn't high :-/Quote:

Well I'll be.
Hey I was thinking about just grabbing a QE6600, the price is looking very good, and I'm sure Crysis will take advantage of the 4 cores, not sure how well though.Quote:

Even when people have overclocked the Q66600 to 3.4Ghz and 1400fsb it still just barely performs better than a stock 6850 when it comes to games. The quad is great if you're rendering huge files or doing a shit ton of multitasking, but the 6850 is much more powerful for gaming.
It will hold it's own, but the 6850 will still be better and the same price.
Though, maybe not online.
Anyone else get a "security something can't be started" when they go to play the game and there for can't play the game :(
Ok, my computer was out of comission for half a week (blown PSU) but I finally got to try it out.
It's worth firing up Vista for. It actually does run a lot faster. The DX10 effects aren't mind blowing, but they look nice, but the performance boost alone seems worth it.
Wait, so there are games that run BETTER in Vista? Has the world gone mad?
Frog, how can you tell/how do you turn on DX10 effects? I see nothing in the options. Furthermore, if I filter DX10 games only in the server list it comes up blank. Is there a seperate exe file to launch if you want DX10?
System Shock 2 runs better in Vista (as opposed to XP, at least).
I seriously, seriously suck at Crysis. I don't even understand how. I find a guy, shoot the shit out of him, but it always seems like I die right away and it takes forever to kill them.
Also I get sniped...a lot. And tanks are a little overpowered.
The game looks amazing though, and maybe with time I won't suck so massively.
Seems like the "Very High" detail setting that really show off the DX10 stuff aren't even available in the beta. This game is gorgeous as is, I can't wait to see it's full glory.
are you buying a scope off the equipment list?
the mp in this game does a lot of things right, except for the battlefield style sit around the flag circle-jerks.
