....Galaxy is repetitiously doing something that's been done for far longer than Gears.
The level design and slight tweaks to the formula are what make it good. Same with Gears.
It's ok if you don't like 3rd person action games, but it doesn't mean Galaxy is a better game.
Galaxy certainly is a AAA in a field that has fewer entries for Gears...which makes Gears even more remarkable, since it stands out so much in an already crowded field, a clear AAA. Although, TBH, 3rd person action isn't quite as full as the FPS genre.
Certainly, the cover system and co-op dynamic hasn't been done "repetitiously over the last 5 years," like you are trying to imply, though Gears wasn't the originator of these either.
