Well, I wouldn't call your group of friends the most enlightened bunch when it comes to art. Do whatever the fuck you want man. Actually having the impulse to make art is a rare enough thing, don't poop on it.

Alright, I'm doing a FFXI group for a friend by request, but it's very tedious and I'd like to do smaller projects inbetween each FFXI character. I'm really low on ideas and reference art. I'm thinking about maybe a modern non-Zero Suit Samus, Schala from Chrono Trigger, a FFXII character (Fran and balthier may be out since their costumes are so detailed) or maybe a cartoony Lulu to compliment the Auron I made. Or maybe something entirely different, I dunno.
Ideas? References? Sketches?

Never played the games, actually. I enjoy making things more if I have fond memories attached to the series or otherwise really love the character design, so I'm not inclined to make things I'm not familiar with.
The style would fit though, it'd be easy, but just not in my taste.
I'd do Samus but I lack the correct color green for her gun. Nuts.
Samus doesn't have nuts.
But the LuLu would be awesome (Waka would be kinda funny too). Also Schala would make me flip out with awesome.
