Official Halo 3 Thread

Was playing social slayer last night and fell in with a group of mid-thirty or so players. We played three or four rounds without losing a match and they suggested to take it to ranked, and I was like "Uhhh, I'm like a level 7 in team slayer ranked," and they were pretty shocked.

Anyway we played anyway despite my ability to fuck up their levels real well, and we won the two matches we played and I was MVP of one, and I shot straight to ten. Those were two of the best games I've played.

Since I know none of you care, the point of the story is what's everyone's TS rank? because I do want to roll up to the thirties in team at least.
Should I just try to get up to mid-thirties with randoms before I can roll with you guys?

I noticed that I have about 200 exp in about 330 games, most of which were me playing random, which is pretty above average from what I see. Most people get exp in about half of their games, but maybe it's because I haven't really maxed out my levels yet.

Exp/games ratio isn't a good gauge of skill simply because you have no idea how good the opponents were or how good the teammates were. To be honest I think it'll be a while before you get good enough to play TS with me because I bring in generals and all, but I think Nomi and Brand would rather have you than a random when they try to get up to 45. You can check all of your friends' ranks in each list on the friends list on bungie.net btw, but in TS I'm a 48, and I think Nomi and Brand are 43 and 40 respectively.

However, you would level a lot faster if you had some good lower level friends around your rank to party with, simply because then you'd probably be winning every single game.

Maybe 42(been 44), I can't seem to rank down and it fucking sucks since I'm not good enough to hang around these levels.

Haha, not being able to rank down is a plus from my perspective. Might as well just play MLG since I assume you haven't played much of that and are still low, but the average level of competition there is higher than the other playlists. But if you keep playing it you'll get a lot better, unless you just don't like objective games.

I like obj but mostly btb obj since I'm not the talkative guy.

Yea I don't have any reliable swedish friends that plays halo either so I'm fucked. It sounds good in my head but as soon as I try to pronounce anything in english over 20db I just come of as a retard.

played a couple of ranked matches last night and got my major. I really don't like playing lone wolves though, so I'm dragging my ass about getting farther. I can't level up anymore til I hit 300 exp anyway. Which is like 100 exp away.
