They just.... don't have it. Autumn doesn't exist in this country, really. It is full swing Christmas here now, it's fuck all bullshit. They don't have Pumpkin Spice lattes here either.

I tried making my own apple cider last night and... well, that didn't really work. It's just sort of brown sludge that taste more of allspice and cinnamon rather than apples. Maybe I didn't boil them for long enough or maybe I overdid it on the spice... Regardless. That was a big mess.

I am pretty sure they call apple cider something different over there in limey land...

they call it scrumpy or something, but apparently they only have it out west. At least that's what red war machine said.

same here. my grandma is also going to New Orleans during Christmas (and my birthday 4 days later) and we always went to her house for that as well. it just seems weird.

how the hell do you have Christmas without all the foods that go with it? What do they eat? a bowl of fish and chips?

You may not want booze, but look for an import booze store. They might have hard cider there. Also maybe check the wine section. They might have it in a large bottle near that.

I just picked up the 28lb Turkey for this year. Fitting it into the fridge was fun.

I can't wait for Thanksgiving! I'm spending with my best friend's family so I know that there's going to be a ton of people (She's Filipino and has so many relatives.) cooking amazing quantities of food. I'll definitely be bringing some of that motherlode home to munch on for what's likely to be the rest of the month. And if not, I'll go out post-Thanksgiving and pick up a discount turkey and cook that baby real good. God, I love turkey.

I miss Turkey. :( :(
