Homeowner's Associations

I'm pretty sure once you've reached the highest rank in the KKK, you are then promoted to a homeowner's association committee. Once there, you can spy on tenants, put up notices for events that will never happen, force people to park a mile away from their building for "lot improvement" with a day's notice, and wake tenants up in the wee hours of the morning because you think they parked their car in the wrong spot. I'm sorry if anyone on this board is a part of any HOA because I am going to slaughter your family.

The intent of HOAs is good, but the execution can be terrible. That said, if you didn't read the by-laws before you bought the place, you get what you deserve.

Yoshi, don't get into this high and mighty shit again. The truth is, I have read all the by-laws and I'm not complaining about the rules. Read my post. These people make mistakes in enforcing the rules all time and the tenants suffer.

My HOA just finished giving us all new if-removed-break-apart parking stickers. Also every guest parking pass is now void, and no one is allowed to park in the guest spots untill november 3rd when we get new passes.... (why not just NOT void the old ones TILL then!?). Speaking to one of the HOA members, i asked him WTF i was supposed to do when i got my rental car.

"so im going to be getting a rental car hopefully in the next week or so because my car is going to the shop for repairs"
"oh well you cant park in your spot without the sticker, and you cant remove it. You also cant park in the guest spots, because their void. Your best bet is to park on the side streets"
"those are already packed as it is, and im sorry but my car gets beaten up in its own spot as it is, your really going to tell me to park a rental in the side streets?"
"thats your only option"

i basically left letting him know id be talking to his hire ups about how this is being incredibly mishandled.

I love renting. Sure I don't own it but where I rent everyone just leaves others alone.

I already said that the execution can be terrible. I think a lot of people don't bother to read though, so they make it out to be worse than it really is.

LOL. I guess you mean don't buy a condo, house or townhouse. They are everywhere now.

I've never heard of a house having this kind of shit enforced on it. It must be an american thing. LOL freedom.
