Most WTF story I think I've ever heard

This story isn't exactly current, but the court case was finally settled earlier this month, and I don't recall ever seeing a thread about this here, and searching turned up nothing, so I just thought I'd post about it. If this has been covered previously, please, please find it in your hearts to forgive me.

I'm not shocked or flabbergasted easily, but a coworker was telling me about this a few minutes ago and…well, the apparent intelligence level of all involved is just blowing my fucking mind. The manager, the employee, the fiancée…I…I'm just fucking speechless. I know McDonalds employs retards, but…well, none of these people seem to actually be retarded. I just can’t understand it.

Apparently the entire incident was caught on a surveillance camera, so I assume the entire video may be available somewhere. I'd check YouTube, but I can’t get it at work. But we all know this shit has ways of getting out.

Anyway, I knew there were stupid people running around everywhere unchecked, but this surpasses my wildest expectations. I'm still reeling.

How horrifying. Not just because of this particular incident, but because it reveals the truth about the people we have become. I'm glad they mentioned the Milgram experiment, because it's very apt. Can you imagine what things could be like if martial law were ever declared?

Our culture, our society has turned into people being raised with the facade of interpersonal pathos, but under perceived authority are capable of so much harm, partly because of fear, and partly because of a deep-seeded selfishness.

Indeed. But you really have to wonder at what point blind obedience ends and simple human compassion and common sense begins in a situation like this. Apparently, it doesn't.

It all comes down to the lowering of the standard American IQ, methinks. Nothing drives this point home more than this quote, issued by the manager, Donna Jean Summers, that forced the girl to strip and whose fiancée's dick the girl sucked:
