Dan Ryckert gave this review for Resistance 3 and it is very rare that I would disagree with every single point that he makes. This is what he has to say about R3.
1:takes players on a lackluster cross country war
2:Bland enviroments
3:Guns dont feel like they have much weight and the soundtrack is forgettable
4:Getting enemy AI to acknowledge your existence can be troublesome
5:If this is the final game then the franchise is going out with a whimper
6:decidedly average and the most dissappointing entry in the series
7:Joseph Capelli has all the menace of a Wal Mart greeter
8:Bland enviroments and cookie cutter towns
9:combat situations are not dynamic with predictable level design
10: copied the bubbleshield from Halo reach (wrong jackass, the bubbleshield was in Resistance 2 a couple of years before Halo Reach)
11: R3 doesnt belong amongst the AAA shooters.
I feel like I played a totaly different game than this guy ( also know that you have to take Dan Ryckerts reviews with a grain of salt as he doesnt know the meaning of objective and trips over himself between reviews on a regular basis and only holds certain games to certain standards)and this is happening more and more in videogame journalism.
I have a really cool idea for game reviews that I think gamers would appreciate and would be based on game info instead of game scores. I want to do this because over the years some of the best games i have ever played ended up with average and below average scores according to Metacritic.( Thats a whole other can of worms that I could go on and on about!!! an 84 gets an orange color code?? really?) and I feel that there are probably many brilliant games that are floating around in the brilliant minds of some game developers but they will never be realized because of the damage that the videogame media has done.
Wal Mart greeters are pretty menacing.
