Those kind of things are on sale on PSN right now as well, and you don't need plus to get them. However, plus is offering 7 free games RIGHT NOW, as well as a bunch of discounts on others. What's on Live exclusively for Gold members? A discount on DLC for 3 Dead Rising games. PERIOD.
Here's another example: Buy Daytona on PS3 with plus and get 30% off and a free dynamic theme and avatar. Buy it on live and get just the game for full price.
This is happening a lot more as time goes by, and Live is just no longer the deal it once was. I see it now more as an obstacle to being able to do things on my 360 that the PS3 lets me do for free (Facebook, Netflix, online play) and there's just no value to it anymore.
Once more people play SF on PSN than on Live I'll move. Until then the price I pay a year to play top players is worth it.
You said Live hasn't offered shit in quite a while. It does. Whether or not you like the selection or think one is better isn't what was being stated.Dead Rising is its own DLC? That's so meta.Quote:

Also: Do you really use Facebook on your consoles? Really?
XBox Live is better than PSN, if only due to the fact that everyone is on it. PSN+ gives better value for money than Live Gold. That's the whole of it, right there.

What it offers isn't worth $50 a year. It used to be, but it's simply fallen behind. But hey, if you're satisfied with it, knock yourself out. I just think that paying $50 to play online isn't worth it anymore.
You're right about Dead Rising though! It's only $15 on sale! Whatta deal!
No, but if I did I'd need a Gold subscription to do it on 360. If you think using Facebook on a console is stupid, think about having to pay for the privilege.Quote:

You're multiplying different large numbers by 0 at that point, though
I finally got around to checking out the Video Unlimited app and it is slick as hell. Sony needs to make the entire PS3 OS look like that. It's so far ahead of XMB and whatever MS is calling the 360 UI.
Hey, so I picked up some of the 1-year PS+ cards from Target for $15 via the screwed-up ad, and I might end up having two cards that I could get rid of. I'm still trying to decide how many I need for personal uses, but I should know in the next day or so. I'd be asking $17 for them—just enough to cover the cost of the card, tax, and the fee PayPal will take from me for receiving money.
So if anybody is thinking about wanting PS+, keep it in mind and I'll decide by Friday how many I'll have free. First offer for them will go to folks on TNL.
