It's a pretty poor review. It sounds like he tried playing it all the way through in single player given all the bitching about the difficulty and "ineffective guns."
The enemies go down a lot quicker in multiplayer.
Then the reviewer complains about the controls like he's never played a shooter before that wasn't running a dual joystick setup. The controls are fine for anyone who's played a Metal Slug or Contra game.
I don't see how IGN can give Shoot Many Robots a 4.5 when they also gave Hard Craps Uprising a 8.5.
I would probably rate them a 7 and a 6, respectively.
