Mass Effect and Kane & Lynch
Call of Duty 4 is a maybe, I did like the Beta. Those SNK cheapos and Fire Pro Returns on the PS2 are a definite if I have the throwaway cash. Yeah that's it.
Yeah, there were some Barbie games too. I left out the complete garbage... and EB had KoF XI has the very end of October still.

Mass Effect, Contra 4 & Fire Pro Wrestling Returns are my only absolutely must buys this month. If I can swing it I'll also be grabbing Time Crisis 4.
And it looks like I'm going to have to figure out how to afford a Wii soon.

There is so much that I want to play that I'll have to wait for reviews to decide what to buy, rent, and pass up. The only things I have preordered are NGBC and KoF XI (if it does slip to November).
28 Oct 2007, 05:19 PM
Cowdisease
Amazon lists KOF XI as the same release date as NGBC, November 13th. I'm perplexed as to why they separated their release dates in the first place. With their low prices, they should have released both games as a cheap pack. I'm ambivalent towards getting the SNK fighters because I'm going to be busy with Virtua Fighter 5, and I'm not keen on the lack of online play and HD visuals (not sure if my TV can upscale a 480p image well).
Not counting upcoming LIVE titles, I think I'm done buying games after Virtua Fighter 5 comes out this week. Don't plan on getting a Wii, so Mario Galaxy is out. I have a backlog of DS games I need to get to, so no Contra 4, and I'm already going to be busy rotating Halo 3, Orange Box (PC), Guitar Hero 3, and Virtua Fighter 5, so getting more games is definitely out of the question.
28 Oct 2007, 05:20 PM

KoF XI is about 10x better than VF5. It might be the last great fighting game.

It's funny how, after so long of getting absolute crap, the Wii is getting more good games on the 12th-13th than I think the library has period at this point. (Well, okay, I may be giving Soul Calibur Legends a bit too much credit. Not sure if it's actually any good or not.)
As for me, I really want a legit copy of Silent Hill Origins (since all I have no is a disc-only review copy), Contra 4 is a buy, as are the cheap SNK stuff + FirePro. Mass Effect is a possible, but I've got way too many other long-play games to get through first.

I'll buy it even though its not online and not on the 360. My fighting "crew" is scattered nowadays. Also, no love for VF5 ?! You a high-level player or something? I just want VF online so I'm pretty excited.

VF5 is great... for a 3D fighter, and that qualification puts it way behind KoF XI, which is great... period.

For me it's Mass Effect, Scene It, and Rock Band as MUST HAVES. I want Firepro and KOF, but only if I can get a PS2 VGA box (my TV is all fucked up). Also, other stuff looks cool, but it's Christmas, and I need to spend on other people too.

Assassin's Creed is the most likely day one purchase. CoD4 is kinda interesting, but I still haven't played through even CoD. Origins might be worth picking up. Same goes for Contra 4. Galaxy would be a day one if I had a Wii. Mass Effect would be awesome if I felt like an RPG. Time Crisis 4 if I had a PS3. What's the deal with Haze?

I've a major backlog of games I'm still working through (Gears, Halo 3, Orange Box, Doom co-op, Oblivion, all on teh zboz), so no November games for me.
The plus side to this is I have plenty of AAA titles (at half price) to choose from next spring/summer when quality releases are scarce.

KOFXI, Mass Effect and previous months' PGR4, Blue Dragon and Time Crisis 4. Going to ask for GH3, Persona 3, Assassin's Creed and Rock Band for my Birthday.

This is the first month I can remember where I simply cannot afford everything I want. Guess it's time to put up a thread in the sales forum and get rid of some of the stuff I don't play.
I also want Call of Duty 4, Kane and Lynch, Virtua Fighter 5, and Rock Band. I'll be patient and wait for price drops, though. Or just pick them up in the usual annual gaming drought from May through August.
Pretty sad take for November, especially if I follow my usual habits of blowing off half of it until it drops in price.
Also, anyone know of any reason to get Lego Star Wars on PS3 over 360? I wouldn't think either system would have an edge on this game, except maybe for rumble with the 360's pad.

Same, except I do own a Wii and also add Revenant Wings. A number of the rest of those (Haze, Uncharted, TC4, Rock Band, Army of Two) I really want but probably won't have the cash for them or just don't want to pay full price. Not as bad as I was expecting, really.

Mario Galaxy
Fire Emblem
Mass Effect
KoF XI & NGBC
Rock Band (disc only, already have 2 guitars and I'd just be awful at drums)

Like always, I'm about a year behind all the new releases, so unless I can find something for really cheap, I'll be playing through the backlog and looking for bargains.
There is a lot of stuff I want though Mario Galaxy, Revenant Wings, Mass Effect (and an xbox 360!), not to mention the recently released Front Mission DS, Zelda DS, and Final Fantasy Tactics on the PSP.

He's less interested in posting pics of the best versions of those games and more into sticking it to the man. All the while running with his tail between his legs toward the other man, which has disallowed some of his favorite games to come stateside.

I believe the only game I am interested in buying next month which is on PS3 and 360 but not PC is Assassins Creed.
Of course, unlike the 360, the PS3 has exclusives still coming. And Sony delivered on their region free promise, so the days of games not coming stateside are over.

I missed where a region-free console magically translates games into the language you understand.
Not that I expect Sony to block anything of worth for PS3, though. They could veto games more liberally when they had a runaway first place position and most people were going to buy the system either way, but they'll probably be less willing to actively give people reasons to dislike them when they're trying to claw out of 3rd.

Oh, it's going to come. The question is when.
Now that EA owns the rights, will MS wait very long to bring this to PC? Hopefully, it'll come out sooner rather than later.

Keywords are "early next year." I'd rather play it next month, regardless of whether the PC version is better.
Also: on Wii? I don't think the game is possible in its current incarnation on last-gen hardware.

Lol, that I'd like to see (Assassin's Creed on Wii, that is).
There are a few big 360 exclusives that I'm interested in coming after November, like Ninja Gaiden 2, Lost Odyssey, and Kingdom Under Fire. I'm curious about Last Remnant and Infinite Undiscovery, but I've seen next to nothing about them.
Add those in with the multi-platform releases like GTA 4, Saints Row 2, and Mercenaries 2, and I'm set until like, May.

That's a decent line up, but I'm thinking they're going to be very spaced out. I also wouldn't be surprised to see FF13 on 360, as Squeenix is anxious to increase its stateside presence. They're sure as hell not going to do that on the PS3.

They are making other western facing games. FFXIII is not going to the 360, although I really don't care, since it won't be as good as XII anyway. Honestly, the third party PS3 exclusives I am most interested in learning more about are Sega's Valkyrie of the Battlefield: Gallian Chronicles and Yakuza Kenzan. White Knight Chronicles looks good, for a JRPG, as well.

thats why theyve tossed Infinite Undiscovery (this name still makes me go WTF) and The Last Remnant. Infinite Undiscovery is being developed by the team that made Eternal Sonata. S-E hasnt thrown any serious titles 360 way.

Did Yoshi just include a list of games he doesn't like anyway? Not disagreeing with his main point (if you have a PC, the 360 exclusive list isn't the most robust), but AFAIK he hates Metal Gear and most of FF.

No, it is coming to the Wii. I just saw a video interview with Jade Raymond over the weekend, where she said that the PC and DS versions are early next year and then they'll start working on a Wii version which is "going to be a very different experience."

Wow. So two huge mistakes. I am glad to hear that the PC version is still coming though. I can push that expense into 2008 now.
There are several games I will eventually purchase at some point including COD 4, Assassins Creed, and NFSPS. Which will most likely be after a price drop or a good sale. Already purchased is Mass Effect which will keep me plenty busy along with Halo 3.
