Hard to believe Andruw was only able to get a 2 year deal. Good on the Dodgers though, it's not a bad signing for 2 years. I wouldn't have touched him if it took more.

Andruw Jones is really nowhere near the best fielding CF in the game anymore.
Still, solid signing.
He's also overrated offensively. He's not that good of a bat and looked like he was trying to hit a grand slam in every at bat. Last year he was dropped to 7th on the lineup many times and he's gotten a bit fat too. He's still better than most defensively (can't think of many that are any better) but he's gotta be in better shape. I think two years is good because of his poor season. If he gets in better shape and plays more seriously then he can always ask for an extension after the '08 season.
I would like to see how Joe Torre handles him. Bobby Cox didn't take any crap from him hence the dropping in the lineup but I don't see Torre being like that. I see those lineup and you guys hope the young kids will play all the time but watch Torre put in lots of vets. He'll probably find a way to play that fat tomato guy (Olmedo Seanz) every day.
That Reyes cover gives me an idea for decorating my game room. I need to get all of the games where players from my teams graced the covers:
Emmitt Smith Football
ESPN National Hockey Night
MLB '07
NHL '96
Prime Time NFL Football
Troy Aikman NFL Football
I probably missed a couple.
Andruw Jones was the best defensive center fielder in the history of the game five or six years ago. Since then his body has worn down quite a bit; he doesn't have the range he used to and his arm isn't as strong. He's still fantastic in CF but he's been eclipsed by a few current players.
Hyperbole alert!
Maybe it's you who should watch something other than Jones.
