Metsblog has this new corporate spin flavor that I detest. IMO it is way too in bed with Omar and SNY particularly. But it's pretty tight re: the facts.

I agree, as the Met's are the NL team I pull for and will pull for when I move to NY (I hate the Yanks) I like to keep up with the facts.
You are right btw, Omar is a good over there now, when did this happen?
Omar was a god to everyone through the end of 2006. Thereafter every move he made turned to shit. I think Cerrone (nice guy btw) has spent a lot of effort cultivating his relationships within the organization and with the press, and doesn't feel he can afford to let loose because he doesn't have the leverage of a mainstream media outlet. I don't think he's shilling at all, just a little biased by his closeness.
Then again, I can't see how anyone rational can defend the Milledge trade anyway.
Or the fact that they have no pitching right now.
Looks like Miguel Tejada is heading to Houston.
Quote:
According to the Baltimore Sun, the Astros have acquired Miguel Tejada from the Orioles for outfielder Luke Scott, pitchers Matt Albers, Troy Patton and Dennis Sarfate, and third baseman Michael Costanzo.
LOL from one useless team to another.
Assuming everyone's healthy, Pence-Berkman-Caballo-Tejada would be a pretty awesome core to build around.
Fuck Santana. I'd rather have Reyes around for next 4 years and leading MLB in steals then have a pitcher who might not sign after 2008. Trading for a pitcher never guarantees anything - I've seen way too many fail solely because they can't take the pressure of a NY market to trade away a guy like Reyes.
Yeah, leading the league in the most useless stat in existence while posting an OBA between .325-.350, seems worth it to me........
