Its called Dollhouse. Whedon describes it as a mixture of Alias and Quantum Leap. Honestly, doesnt sound too interesting to me and I think he peaked with Firefly, but knowing FOX they will pull it after one season anyway...

I'll give this a try strictly because I tend to enjoy Joss Whedon's shows. I'm not expecting much though.
Generally the dialogue is what makes his shows good, so who really knows...?

The characters and stuff going on were interesting enough to hold my attention.Figured all of the dolls would just be robotic and perfect in everything they do (seems like most are) but was weird to see they gave Echo the same faults as the suicidal profiler down to her asthma,bad eyesight,and memory of the dude who raped her. So its not just Matrix style programmming,they just end up becoming the person whose memories were stolen.
The concept is really cool., can only hope for the best at this point.

As for the subject, not too impressed yet. Yes, lead is hot. But the story was too convoluted, and the first case wasn't that interesting. Still I will give it few more chances, and I am intrigued on who was it at the end with dead bodies, watching old tapes.

Anyone not watching this show is part of the problem, and the fact that Fox has this show on Friday and X-Files rehash crap like Fringe on in a prime spot is insane. I almost wish they would have killed off Echo's handler dude, it would have been a huge shock to pull something like that in the second episode. Regardless, if you haven't started watching this show, do yourself a favor and watch it, tonight's episode was outstanding.
Acquiring it now... you've got me excited.
I still would prefer a fully continuing storyline style show, but this will have to do.

Ok watched 2nd episode today. It ended up ok, so I guess I will continue watching, after all, if Terminator could become better show, this might too.
Started quite slow, but as it went, it became cool, and I liked the Surviving the Game man hunt, and all of the clues on to crazy model from before and possible conspiracy against the house.
this episode was pretty damn good,even better than the last. That was quite a twist with the outdoor dude bein a psycho,i lol'ed when he told her to run,wasnt expecting that.
And i guess we are to assume that Echo was given memories of this guy? if no,then why the comment about her democratic brothers + sudden fighting skills? Actually that makes no sense as he was teaching her shit- maybe she just had memories of some random outdoors chick?
and im thinking Alpha may have hired this guy and put something in that water to break her programing and restore her memories?

Episode 1 sucked, episode 2 was pretty good. I also hope that the first episode was just a poorly-timed fluke and the rest of the series remains as good as or better than the second one.

My girlfriend recently became obsessed with Buffy so she's trying really hard to get into Dollhouse. I was on the computer while she watched the first episode and it was laughably bad. Buffy's not at all my thing but I can see why she likes it (witty banter, pagan lesbian magic, vampire killing), but Dollhouse is pure drivel. Eliza Dushku is exposing herself as a horrible actress, and she needs to eat a sandwich. She looks a lot better with some meat on her bones.

I don't see what separates this from other TV shows as being particularly bad.
Maybe it's high expectations due to the pedigree? I loved Buffy, Angel AND Firefly.
And from what I read Dollhouse isn't Whedon's baby. He picked up someone else's concept and ran with it.
I'm sure crazy Whedon shit will start happening soon enough (LIKE PEOPLE BEING KILLED) and it could be rad.
I'll watch the rest of them when I have more time.

Seems like this show is a lot better when they don't focus directly on Dushku's character.
With the exception of the Captain in Firefly, Whedon's leads are always his series worst characters.

Obviously, it happened when her handler distracted the programmer guy earlier, so he's probably in on it.Or maybe it was just the programmer, or just Echo.
Easily the best episode so far. More of this and less of Echo playing body guard for a pop star please.
A couple weeks ago I saw a preview for an episode where it looked like Echo becomes a digital camera. Did that actually happen?
No, but the last two episodes have been significantly better.
They put camera implants into her eyes that made her blind. They used her to infiltrate a cult that was up to something.
Next week looks awesome, big shift for the show.
Well this last episode was pretty kick-ass. Was cool to see the Dollhouse get shaken up a bit. I didnt know if I was buying the whole, this is just an exercise to test the handlers bit until they explained what this was really for in the end.
