Jerry rules, and that was hilarious. The resume line was the best. Not only was the question stupid (it is well documented that Jerry stopped the show), but yes, also a little insulting. And it's not like he stormed off the set. He simply made some jokes about how ridiculous the question was.
It was a dumb question. Of course it wasn't canceled -- everyone should know that. ESPECIALLY someone inviting Seinfeld on their show to discuss his career and new movie. You could tell Jerry was harmlessly ribbing King. It's actually refreshing to see someone like Seinfeld put a journalist in their place instead of smiling and nodding in approval.
And he wasn't wrong. Being first is a lot different than being canceled.
oh whatever neck hair. Seinfeld's a pretty safe bet when it comes to comedy. I haven't heard any of his new material, but his old stuff coupled with his delivery was funny. Not to mention his show was, and still is in 8 years of reruns, one of the most consistently funny ones on television.
People complaining he wasn't the funniest on his show is absolutely the point. He basically had an ensemble cast. Nobody knew who Seinfeld was before the show, and this allowed his fellow cast members to be diversely funny and the focus of key episodes entirely at some points. This is what made the show so well rounded, and why its enjoyed the longevity it has in syndication.
He jokes about airplane peanuts and shit.
If he was the mastermind behind the tv show or whatever, kudos to him, but every standup act of his I've seen was very unfunny.
Him and Larry David. Although lets give Larry David his due -- a lot of the most popular episodes of the series have his fingerprints all over them. Some of the skits on Curb Your Enthusiasm seem like they could be plopped right in to a Seinfeld episode and be right at home.
For instance when he dated a doctor, and she very clinically and orderly organized their dates in a very mechanical way. "Go in to my bed room, take your pants off and I'll be in shortly."
He never had it. His stand up was the driest, dullest crap at the time, and he got by on the whole "didya ever notice..." schtick, even though there have been far funnier comedians doing it long before he did. But then, he's not the only crappy stand up with a show. Ray Romano's act was just awful. I think both he and Seinfield were greatly helped by a much more talented cast making them look good.

Larry King is the asshole there. He goes into every interview completely unprepared and doesn't know shit about who he's talking to any more.
Seinfeld is a dick, too, but he has every right to be the kind of dick that he is.
