is he wrong?
Hard ball smart ass answers for dumbass questions.
Although Jerry's hard core defensiveness could imply that he was canceled despite being number one.
he sounded like a whiney puss
I think Seinfeld went a bit to far. Larry wasnt stating the show was cancled or actually asking for real if it was cancelled. It was meant to be more like fuck yeah we cancelled them no could cancel Seinfeld type of answer and he took it the wrong way and got way too defensive. Still love the show though.
Wife's a hack.
Yeah, he could of got his point across without sounding so arrogant, his voice doesn't help either, made him sound even more like a jackass.
I like Seinfeld, Larry King, not so much.
it must be a cultural thing as I have no idea how anyone can actually like seinfeld. He was the least likable character on the whole show
He is brilliant.
nigga plz
The show's premise was great, and his supporting cast helped carry it. Many people carry the opinion that Seinfeld was the least funny out of the group but it was his show.
:tu: for Jerry
:td: for King
The resume line was
Jerry wasn't being arrogant or whiny, he was just being Jerry by making a joke of the question. Smiling and laughing through it all. Even Larry was chuckling a bit.
Besides, NBC wouldn't cancel their highest rated show. Suggest they retire so they wouldn't have to pay out millions of dollars per episode? Maybe. But they wouldn't cancel it.
Last episode was terrible, btw.
Seinfeld's more of a douche for going on Letterman to attack the woman his wife stole her cookbook from.
Considering how crazy most of the characters around him were he was pretty much the straight man of the group. I don't think that's something you can hold against him.
I saw him on Conan this week doing stand up and he was not funny at all. I think he's lost it.
What a surprise! The king of comedy is not funny to people on TNL?!
Who would have thought!
Hang yourselves, please!
Jerry rules, and that was hilarious. The resume line was the best. Not only was the question stupid (it is well documented that Jerry stopped the show), but yes, also a little insulting. And it's not like he stormed off the set. He simply made some jokes about how ridiculous the question was.
It was a dumb question. Of course it wasn't canceled -- everyone should know that. ESPECIALLY someone inviting Seinfeld on their show to discuss his career and new movie. You could tell Jerry was harmlessly ribbing King. It's actually refreshing to see someone like Seinfeld put a journalist in their place instead of smiling and nodding in approval.
And he wasn't wrong. Being first is a lot different than being canceled.
oh whatever neck hair. Seinfeld's a pretty safe bet when it comes to comedy. I haven't heard any of his new material, but his old stuff coupled with his delivery was funny. Not to mention his show was, and still is in 8 years of reruns, one of the most consistently funny ones on television.
People complaining he wasn't the funniest on his show is absolutely the point. He basically had an ensemble cast. Nobody knew who Seinfeld was before the show, and this allowed his fellow cast members to be diversely funny and the focus of key episodes entirely at some points. This is what made the show so well rounded, and why its enjoyed the longevity it has in syndication.
He jokes about airplane peanuts and shit.
If he was the mastermind behind the tv show or whatever, kudos to him, but every standup act of his I've seen was very unfunny.
Him and Larry David. Although lets give Larry David his due -- a lot of the most popular episodes of the series have his fingerprints all over them. Some of the skits on Curb Your Enthusiasm seem like they could be plopped right in to a Seinfeld episode and be right at home.
For instance when he dated a doctor, and she very clinically and orderly organized their dates in a very mechanical way. "Go in to my bed room, take your pants off and I'll be in shortly."
He never had it. His stand up was the driest, dullest crap at the time, and he got by on the whole "didya ever notice..." schtick, even though there have been far funnier comedians doing it long before he did. But then, he's not the only crappy stand up with a show. Ray Romano's act was just awful. I think both he and Seinfield were greatly helped by a much more talented cast making them look good.
LAWL.

Larry King is the asshole there. He goes into every interview completely unprepared and doesn't know shit about who he's talking to any more.
Seinfeld is a dick, too, but he has every right to be the kind of dick that he is.
Charlie Rose rules you
Remember when Larry King interviewed Jake Brown and he asked "Can you make money skateboarding?" and "How important is the board?"
Lol, he did? WTF?
Just child-like questions. "Why? Where are you from? What's your hat say? What's that?"
lol that guy was mad.

Pride is one of the Seven my friends.
Jerry is a funny guy, but his stand up routine has never been anything spectacular.
I guess surfing the Internet with a clench asshole has now extended into your regular lives.
What's next? America's Home Videos (and I'm talking Bob Saget area) of people getting hit in the junk isn't funny?
You all have down syndrome.
it is becoming pretty clear why your old comic could never be funny
Yeah, not having our sense of humor dictated by network television clearly makes us all retarded.
Solution: stop watching TV.
New Problem: most people relate to each other by whats on the news and whats on tv, you're out half because people are uniformed fucks.
Jerry Seinfeld was funny.
He is not the King of Comedy.
Jonas has never been, and never will be funny.
There is only one King of Comedy and his name is Rupert Pupkin.
wrong, buckwheat

Carlin is the winner here.
i saw Carlin friday night. it's annoying how he has to repeat his deliveries 2 or sometimes 3 times but i'll be damned if he isn't amusing.
Holy Hell, Biff is right about something?!
*runs to prepare for TEH INPENDING APOCKALIPS*
Stop caring so much about what other people find funny. It's not like Seinfeld's paying you to change people's minds. Bon Jovi sucks.
He's funny, and I would agree with you if this were 1999. Louis C.K. is my favorite comedian going right now. The things he says about his kids blow my mind.
lol jonas
I keep saying Letterman's lost it but that Kalter skit was AMAZING.
Oh god, I think I agree with Drew about a comedy topic. This can't be good.
Live in a small venue, I think Patrice Oneal is the funniest guy working today, but Louis CK is way the fuck up there, and definitely better than Patrice on TV or in front of a large crowd.
Carlin is a legend, but his last special was horrible. He's really fallen off. Doesn't mean I've lost respect for him, but his reign has ended all the same.
I'm just trying to finally prove that TNL is full of whiny, annoying, tightly clenched, nerds who hate everything.
75 million people probably STILL think Jerry Seinfeld is gold, Jerry, gold and yet you find the 10 that don't all on TNL.
I like how you guys care what I say now though. I'm a legend around these parts now.
why do you care? OMG SOME PEOPLE DON'T LIKE THAT SHOW YOU LIKE WTFBBQYTMND
you know that period in TNL history where I got railed every other day about spelling or body hair or something? You aren't even that cool yet.
You have one fuck up, that we all remember, just like EVERYONE on TNL has.
You can't deny that Jerry is acting like a pompous ass. Just because you think he deserves to be since he maintained a successful television show dosent mean he can be a dumb fuck like on this interview- atleast imo.
Never was a fan of Seinfield anyways.
Patrice and CK both have the same thing in common -- they realize the outrageousness of racial / sexist humor and utilize it for great laughs. I hate to use the word liberated, but I think it's the best way to describe them. Stupid little shit doesn't get to them and because of that it frees them to be more honest, which is where a lot of great comedy comes from.
I bet you would furfag
ur dumm
George Carlin, Richard Pryor and Bill Cosby are all above Seinfeld when it comes to stand up.
But you have to admit, when someone says 'Stand Up Comedy' 85% of people in the world think of Carlin, Pryor, Cosby and Seinfeld. Yes there are other greats like Eddie Murphy, Steve Martin, Roseanne Barr, etc... but Seinfeld is top draw.
I never think of seinfeld. Never.
Seinfeld is a first class douchebag, but this clip isn't anything expecially noteworthy. Every time I hear that guy's voice I want to punch kittens.
well, kittens are asking for it
Wait... that video was Seinfeld being an ass / being arrogant / ripping into Larry / whatever? Please. Was pretty obvious that Jerry was just having fun with the whole thing, and was pretty fitting to his humor style if, you know, you've ever actually seen him.
Twenty years ago, maybe. Now he's just a washed-up, bitter, psychotic hack. Watching anything he's done lately is like watching a person with dementia or something.
-_' that is ripping? or having fun? Can any of you hear? His voice gets all nasally and high. He is fucking whining.
Why are we having this discussion?
Seinfeld is one of the greatest stand-up comedians alive. This is beyond any real dispute. If you ask any of the comedians other people have mentioned in this thread, they will agree with this statement. Personal preference aside, no reasonable person can deny his ability. Yeah, Louis CK and Patton Oswalt and George Carlin and Dave Chappelle are all great, but so is Seinfeld.
As for the Larry King appearance, I think Seinfeld was being a prima donna. Yeah, he was trying to play it off for laughs, but he was genuinely pissed off by what he perceived to be King's lack of respect.
Notsomuch a lack of respect as a lack of knowledge, especially considering this is CNN who prides themselves on being such a great news source.
I like Seinfeld. And I don't blame him for his reaction. He obviously wanted to say, "Are you fucking serious?" but the best he could muster being in front of the cameras was righteous indignation at King's stupidity.
It makes me sad that no one else caught this reference.

Haha, that look on Jerry's face after Larry asked the question is priceless.
So did Seinfeld get canceled or not? I didn't watch the video.
Canceled. With plans for 4 spin-off vehicles based on each of the main characters, but a dispute among the Key Grip and other staff members kept contract negotiations tied up, so eventually they were all released.
and here is how a prepared non-feeble-minded interviewer does things
