Dude, what was this message about me needing a limo? I just don't want to be in LA at 2am with only the train to take home. It's not a fun way to end the night, or a fun thing to do period. =p
But yeah, unless my ass gets some awesome job that requires super long hours, or barring a major emergency *knock on wood* I'm in.
Flying into LAX Thursday the 20th at 2:05 pm.
Leaving Thursday the 27th at 11:20am.
What are some good things to do while I'm there? My only plan is going to Hollywood Forever cemetery.
METAL SKOOL! Consider your Monday night booked.
Whats that?
80's metal cover band, probably the best on in the country.
my goodness.
Only a fool would skip an opportunity to visit the Gracie museum in Torrance. It's free.

Plus The Earaches and Holy Name Dropouts are playing in LA the 21st. Venue TBA but if you're interested I'll let you know.
Josh plz be healthy when you come down here.
:O
I'm fine when i only rock vegetables. I also feel fantastic.
wait, wtf, did this TNL Get Together shit get bumped up? I thought we were on for March?
March 23, as stated in the original post. New York should be June 7, but there will be a separate thread for that.
Friday night before the official Saturday get together is anything going on?
Definitely, but I don't have anything planned. I defer to the locals for suggestions, and as we get closer to the date, we'll know more.
tnl elite dinner imo.
As long as he takes me somewhere nice <3
I should have that Friday off - We should go out and get a head start on the fesitivities...
I look forward to it, but if you're going to argue we should postpone a get-together to celebrate the anniversary of our beloved community so we can watch men play sports, don't expect an easy time of it.
Friends before celebrities. If you want to watch dudes in matching outfits earn a living, I'll hire a mariachi band for NYC.
Buying the ticket and whatnot tomorrow, I'd just like to quickly recap everything we know so far is going on, etc.
The meet itself is Saturday, but how long are most people going to be in the area? I have a couple of LA friends from RF that I'm definitely going to call on while I'm there, so it sounds like good times. Just trying to set my dates... I had daydreams of flying there holding Nick's hand the entire way (to my crotch) but I think I'm going to option for Thurs-Monday.
I guess you can pretty much confirm me as going at this point. You can also put down a guest for me, but it's going to be satsuki! Surprise! Probably! Just need to get the details straight on the phone >_o
I'm gonna give ya'll the full tour of The Jungles.. you'll love it :D
Medieval Times has gone down the shitter since they made each show uniformly the same. Each place used to have their own unique choreography and show flair. Also, the last time I went, I think the show horse had rabies.
HOWEVER they'll give you like 5 shots of Jagermeister for 11 bucks in a shot glass you get to take home.
yup, i'll be there with mzo. frankly, i'm looking forward to it.
Ugh, I'll pass on Medieval Times.
We're also gonna take a pass through the Scientology museum.
We're also very open to suggestions re: good times.
Scientologist have meseums? What the hell?
I can't wait until the New York meet when we pass by Continental for the Five Shots for $10 Bucks deal. Half-Hour of Power imo.
We should all go to a concert on March 22nd! Lol, but the only thing I know that's happening that day is Margaret Cho at The Orpheum Theatre. What's the game plan or are we just going with Plan B, which is to get drunk and crash Nick's hotel room ;)?
I think we should all run a train on Opaque.
We're actually doing that Friday night.
Its invite only though... Talk to Rhydant, I think he's setting it up.
Awesome. I call his left ear.
if i can afford it, i'll be there.
*edit* running a train on all your asses (bring lube)
How much are tickets going for from MD area?
Travelocity has tickets from Baltimore to LA for about $350 round trip, about $500 with two nights at a hotel. If you want to stay at the Hyatt West Hollywood, it's $661 for the whole package for a Friday arrival, Sunday departure.
Total Roundtrip: $334.00
Also I could book a room at the hotel inside the airport, I don't know if that'd be an inconvinence
That's such a reasonable price holy shit. And I'd also be down for splitting a hotel room, let's make arrangements, I'm pretty sure most of us will be drunk enough to the point where sleeping on the floor won't be an issue. Woot I'm excited, I think I can actually make this.
Edit: My concern though is, renting a car or taking transportation friday night, I mean do we plan to do a lot Friday night? Or anything at all? 11 PM seems a bit late though to have the TNL limo pick me up as well.
Fri, Mar 21
Depart:6:51pm
Arrive: 11:17pm
Sun, Mar 23
Depart:3:22pm
Arrive: 12:11am
Also for a hotel, It's apparently part of the Airport which wouldn't be a bad idea at all, though I forget the exact details of what we're doing but it seems like it wouldn't be a bad place to stay.
Hotel - 1 Room, 2 Nights
Fri, Mar 21
Radisson Hotel at Los Angeles Airport, Los Angeles, CA
Sun, Mar 23
You have to be the big spoon?
I still haven't gotten a hotel.
We should probably fix that. Let's find a cheap place that has quite a few rooms avaliable. Granted our orgy will probably on need 2 rooms.
I want to stay in Nick's hotel so I can fuck his ass hang out with him.
Please, my family and co-workers read this forum. I don't care if they think I hate women, but I don't want them to think I like men. My uncles alone would be constantly hounding me for sex.
Why don't you have a hotel yet? Biff would have had this done day one.
Because I'm lazy, and haven't figured out exactly how long I'll be in LA for.
So you haven't booked a return flight either? Or are you sleeping your way cross-country again?
I have a return flight the following Thursday. We're visiting Rebecca's mom, but I just don't know when and for how long.
what hotel are you at again?
The Hyatt West Hollywood.
DO NOT GET A HOTEL ROOM NEAR THE AIRPORT
Nick's hotel is expensive as fuck.
Is the cheapest room I could find at Nick's hotel.Quote:
215.00
It's in the ghetto and not close to anything. Any time there is traffic you are talking almost an hour drive to where everyone is staying, and there is no public transportation. Find somewhere in West Hollywood. I might be able to let a couple people stay at my place if you have trouble finding a hotel, but I'm not actually moved in yet so I need time to figure that out.
Also, anyone who hasn't booked a flight yet consider flying into Burbank. It's closer and way less crowded. It might cost a little more though.
Makes sense.
We'll just find a place near Nick to stay or something. I'll look around hotels later I think some were mentioned in this thread (Thought they were gonna be updated on the first post though)
We should add a list of where everyone is booked already to the first post. That way people can get into the same hotels and split cabs and stuff.
And split rooms, paying full price for a room yourself = idiocy. I'm just gonna sleep in Opaque's trunk though.
I'm going to pick this up and bring it to the TNL meet
http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/zip/570942877.html
ok locals. I need a shit ass hotel that isn't $200 a fucking night. Any recommendations?
I thought you were staying at the Standard?
plans have changed. I'm staying at the cheapest place in town.

These are a few hotels I found in the LA area that are all under $70. My only problem is I don't know locations so I don't know if these are super fucking far out of the way or what.
holy crap. did anyone notice this was easter weekend?
I won't have to take that Friday off. Great news.
Ramada $140, 1/2 mile from nick: http://www.expedia.com/pub/agent.dll...dspv/htid=9255
Econo lodge $96, 1.3 miles from nick, in between sunset strip and Hollywood attractions. I think the location is pretty decent, but you're kind of in between the hottest spots: http://www.expedia.com/pub/agent.dll...l-location-map
Quality Inn, $129, 1.7 miles from nick, near the walk of fame and tourist trap hollywood http://www.expedia.com/pub/agent.dll...spv/htid=59560
Comfort Inn, $110, same location as Quality Inn: http://www.expedia.com/pub/agent.dll...spv/htid=13959
Day's Inn, $120, also near the last two in downtown Hollywood: http://www.expedia.com/pub/agent.dll...spv/htid=27739
I've never been to any of those but that's the general area you want. You'll have trouble finding affordable places near Nick at the West Hollywood Hyatt. I think you guys should go in and split a room at the standart 3 or 4 ways.
I mean if we split the Ramada 4 ways that's $45 per.
If we split Econ it's lol 25 per. If we could split a room at Econo 4 ways or even 3 ways that'd be awesome.
Who's up to share a room there.
Can't you convince Biff to bankroll you? You'll be his entourage.
It wouldn't be bad if I could get Mech, Biff, and Brand to all go down. But I have a feeling most of them can't make it.
I'm not splitting a room with any of you. Nothing personal. <3
I'll be staying at the econolodge. Renting a car too.
Jesus is a faggot btw... fuck easter.
Econolodge is looking pretty good compared to the pricing these other places have. Which one is closest to where we'll be at?
Assuming nick is the center of the universe then the Ramada is closest (walking distance), but the econolodge is second closest (not really walking distance).
If you want to walk out of your hotel and do stuff (like make fun of the guy dressed as Superman standing outside of Mann's Chinese Theater) don't stay at the econolodge, it is about a mile walk to attractions (the strip and walk of fame).
If you don't have a car I think the money you'd save at the econolodge will get eaten up by taxis, so go with one of the other locations. Ramada for Sunset Strip, all others for the walk of fame, Chinese Theater, Hollywood & Highland, and that sort of thing. It's kind of junky touristy stuff, but there are clubs, restaurants, and interesting things. It would be easy to get Taxi's here too.
Also, make sure you look at the ratings before booking the hotels i put down. I just searched by locaction and copied them. Some don't look so hot and I take no responsibility if you have a crappy vacation!
Is anyone staying at the Standard?
I'm considering it.
Honestly, as much as I want to go as well, I should probably refrain from it for the sake of procuring a new car. So I'm in the same situation Mech.
Wow, an all Ohio pullout of the TNL meet up.
Just of the LA one, considering it's the furthest and hardest to get to of them.
Chicago and New York are both pretty much sure things.
You said LA was a sure thing a month ago, just saying.
Why go to the easy places? Go somewhere you haven't gone before!
Did we ever decide what we're doing in LA?
I've never been to New York or Chicago :P
AKA their house.
Okay! Just bought my tickets. I'm coming in on Friday, leaving Sunday.
Now I just need to decide where to stay.
I don't want to stay in some fleabag on my vacation, so the Standard holds some appeal for me.
ps, in case anyone doesn't know already...flights get crazy cheaper on days that aren't friday through monday. Especially because it's easter that weekend.
Well, I'm gonna call up The Ramada tomorrow about a reservation for Friday and Saturday night. Its this one: http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF8&...,0.040426&z=15
Stormy's post lists $140 a night but I'll have an exact dollar figure tomorrow evening.
Opaque and I will be snuggling up in one bed, who else wants to join the party? If you fags aren't gay enough to share a bed (loljustdoit) one can take the bed and hopefully there will be a couch for the one that loses the coin toss.
aww, I think it's because I'm sick, but that brought tears to my eyes. :/
The real tear-jerker is that is that Josh will also be bringing flowers.
Maybe he'll even recite some poetry that he has written and stuffed in the breast-pocket of his leather jacket. The paper is semi worn in the edges. There are several small blots of washed out ink where his own tears have landed. He is timid but nervous excitement courses through him.
...2lol4u2c
Thats probably not too far from the truth.
It really ain't that much out of the ordinary for him, IMO.
The Ramada is $190 a night. Fuck.
So split 4 ways thats $100 for Friday and Saturday. Thats not horrible but we'd absolutely have to have another two people. Anyone else down?
B-Ri - bring Jon John. Or I will.
You Los Angelinos (is that it?), please help me plan this thing. Is there a restaurant with a back room that we might be able to reserve? I'm mainly worried about us having a place for everyone to meet on Saturday night where we won't have to shout over other groups or be scattered throughout a room because there are not enough seats together. My company had a dinner at a Thai place a few years ago for about twenty people or more and we had our own little room in the back. Something like that would be ideal. I know a hundred places we could do something like that in Chicago, so there must be some in LA.
How about a park?
My mom says not to park with boys like you. So no.
